Iconic ice cream since 1957. Noel, the owner was gracious, informative and makes fantastic ice cream! Custard’s was a stop on our NY ice cream challenge tour, from Coney Island to the Canadian border. Well worth it!! I had a wafer cone with a scoop of vanilla under a scoop of strawberry. Soooooo good! The atmosphere here is iconic and epic Adirondacks. Long Lake, summer, the mountains and ice cream. On our ice cream journey we rate this number two in New York State, behind our tie for number one. Homemade ice cream, family traditions, roadside ice cream excitement! Custard’s Last Stand is a stop you can’t miss when enjoying an Adirondack summer day.

Some of the best custard I've ever had. I got the petite twist cone and it was still a generous portion. My ice cream was ready before we even finished ordering!

Such a disappointment. We ordered the NEW banana dream sundae and the regular banana split and I'm not even kidding the banana split she handed out was a banana split in two with a glob of vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and a cherry. I was like "can we get any toppings on these?" and the woman working replied "if you want" and asked us what toppings we wanted. Additionally, the NEW banana nightmare sundae she made for me had twice as much twist ice cream and some whipped cream and a cherry. (Mind you, the ingredients to all the sundaes this place had are posted very clearly for customers to see, and they were "three scoops of ice cream, three toppings, whipped cream, nuts, cherry) When I told her "I would like some hot fudge and nuts" and my bf said "Yeah hot fudge, and nuts, oh and peanut butter!" she returned with two splits both with HOT FUDGE AND PEANUT BUTTER ON TOP OF THE WHIPPED CREAM LIKE SOME SORTA MANIAC WOULD EAT. Oh and she forgot the nuts. All jokes aside, she was prob a newbie or something like no hate, been there done that, but y'all should really train your employees a little better and maybe have more than one employee working on the day before Fourth of July when LL literally has the most people it'll see until...

I have been going here and only here for 30 years. Amazing soft serve, great service. It’s a matter of pride I never went to Hoss’s when they made their own ice cream place across the street. Thought it was a play to push out Custard’s. I’ve heard all I need to know that it’s not nearly as good...
