Waiting a day to celebrate our anniversary was absolutely worth it because we were fortunate enough to get reservations at the North Country’s hottest new restaurant! The Blue House finally opened for in person dining and we couldn’t be happier for them. . The atmosphere is beautiful and understated and classy and relaxed. The food? Let me tell you. Beyond outstanding. From the house made sour cherry lime soda to whipped beet butter French radish sea salt starter with delicious honey wheat bread to the generous portions of the calamari starter to our main course. Josh got the fire-roasted meatloaf with a potato cake, homemade ketchup, and onion crisps. I had the zucchini rigatoni with homemade pesto and ricotta. . The best part though? The service. Walking in the door, you immediately have a front row seat to the main event - Josh and his crew, cooking up a storm with a beautiful wood-fired oven as the back drop. Alicia and the servers were friendly, super quick, and focused on making the guest experience an unforgettable one. It was a great night and I look forward to many more. . I almost forgot! After all that food, we were too full for dessert so we brought home one of Brad’s Chocolate Cakes - layers of chocolate cake, cinnamon whipped cream, all topped with a chocolate ganache. It’s in my fridge waiting for me and I’m pretty excited about it. . All that to say - GO TO THE BLUE HOUSE!...
Read moreWe were really excited to try TBH. Im not sure if they were just having an off night but we left very disappointed. I would have loved to discuss it with our server but sadly he never did check on us. I had to ask for the check and I was expecting him to ask us how our meal was so I could give my personal feed back. Instead he seemed annoyed, gave us the card reader and walked away to get boxes. He didnt ask to refill our drinks. The only time he came over to the table was to take our order and drop off food. We decided to focus on sushi tonight as it is a huge part of their menu. It changes weekly which im always engaging on Facebook because I love supporting my community . In my honest opinion . The sushi was pretty bad. The crab sushi had a very strong ammonia aroma, I didnt even finish or bring it home it smelled off. The shrimp tempura we ordered tasted like chicken for some reason. It didnt seem like a true tempura batter. I love lox, and I just didnt love the cream cheese that was in it, it was over powering even the beet cured salmon. The puffball was ok. Its mushroom so it shrinks quiet a bit when cooked and you can see in the photo it was basically breading.
I dont think I will order the sushi again but I am eager to return and try their appetizers and...
