Tried Mannys last night and were wowed by this gem in the north woods. What a great place! The decor is modern and bright. We ate in a large screened in 3-season room with views of the park next door. They have an extensive menu and even a drink menu. My wife’s margarita was delicious and I tried two different old fashioneds. The classic bourbon is less sweet than a “purist” would enjoy but the extra orange really fit the bill. There are many appetizers but we settled on the deviled eggs and the Asiago cheese bread. The eggs are pickled but that isn’t very forward in their flavor. So don’t be afraid if you’re usually not a fan. The bread is fantastic! They serve it with butter and there is a cup of giardinera. It’s very mild so give it a try. I had the white chicken chili soup and it was not spice at all. No fear. It was delicious. My wife had a salad with a delicious house made dressing of honey mustard and poppy seed. We had the smoked meatloaf and the ribs. The flavor profile of the meatloaf was amazing. I loved it! It’s served on creamy mashed potatoes with fried onions and broccoli (cooked perfectly). The ribs were good. Not dry at all and just lightly seasoned. The bbq sauce on the side was very good. Not overpowering or spicy. The Mac n cheese was delicious! We did not even think about dessert as we were quite full but the couple next to us had a strawberry shortcake looking dish that looked great. The staff was super friendly and helpful. This is a fairly new restaurant (they are currently building an addition for more seating and live entertainment) so we gave the staff some well deserved grace even as they mixed up a couple things. No big deal at all. Be kind. I think Mannys will be a wonderful addition to the area. It was worth the drive and we...
Read moreFirst off, I want to say the location and venue is fantastic! It is a beautiful spot. However, this is my third time there and my wife's fourth. as we were still hopeful Manny's might get it together. But.... they don't. Our first experience was dry and overcooked meatloaf. But that was spring 2023 (Newly opened). My wife and a friend tried again a couple months later. Same. Food is not commensurate with location. We decided to give up on eating a meal there and tried to enjoy the outdoor area. Again, a beautiful setting. Just like a few weeks ago, we had slow service. But, she was a pleasant server and figured it was an anomaly. Yesterday, we tried again. We stopped at the bar and asked if we should order at the bar. We were told we could sit and a server would be right over. 5 minutes...... Nothing. We can see the manger walking around on her phone. My wife went to the bar to ask about service. We were assured our server would be over. 5 minutes later..... We got up and sat at the bar so we could at least get a drink. Still watching the manager surf the web...... Finally got the bartenders attention. Sorry, the "Signature Drink" I waited close to 15 minutes for was out. Seriously? We kept going back hoping Manny's would learn and grow. We love Manitowish Waters! However, management and young workers not paying attention to customers is a disappointment. Sadly, not sure we...
Read moreCompletely wonderful experience!! The hostesses helped us find and situate seating in the bar so we did not have to wait over an hour to eat. The atmosphere was modern, comfortable and inviting. The lighting was neither inquisition level or so dim that the menu needs to be in braille; and the music was ambience- not noise to yell over. Natalya and Ryan, were so welcoming and friendly. Ryan suggested a modification to one of the craft mocktails, instead of my usual Vodka press, and it was so delicious that my dinnermates followed suit. After inquiring about her accent, Natalya shared her experience about how she arrived at Manny's from Jamacia. She was very straight-forward about all menu items. She is candid, friendly, smiles a lot, and works with joy! Almost everyone there looked like they truely enjoyed working there, and they all pitch in, including the chef, Alex, who surprised us with his honesty about how he prepared the delicious meals when we asked. And the meals...! They were amazing! The pistachio encrusted walleye melted in your mouth like sea bass. The shrimp scampi was a balance of delicious flavors over flat, thin and perfectly done pasta. The Primavera with shrimp showcased a pasta the size of thread smothered by delicious, deep roasted tomatoes. Overall, hands-down, the most delicious meals I have had in a long, long time. I will definitely be...
