We were visiting with family locally and were deciding where to go. The elder picked 'The Moose' cuz it has great soup options. In winter the deck was a bit slick which is the closest door from the larger parking lot, but clear. The lodge feelings are still there with the giant Moose head, a fireplace by the high top tables, the wood on the walls as chair rails. Our server Jane was wonderfully personable, efficient & knowledgable. We arrived shortly after opening on Sat eve w few others here & there ~ so easy to hear and converse. We ordered the Wisconsin Chese curds, YUM ~ the white cheddar cheese was melted and delicious, the crispy fried outside were a perfect fry. Not too heavy on the breading, served w ranch dressing for dipping. Then the basket of bread with options - the dill rolls was crispy outside then warm and tender inside. They were so good we asked for more with the to-go order of the Elder's favorite Chicken, Bacon Ranch Mac'N Cheese - a thick creamy mac'n cheese, plenty of true bacon crumbles with a suprising nip of ranch and crispy fried onions on top. A short time after the appetizer was finished our orders came the elder's Parmesan Crusted Salmon w a side of steamed veggies, my husband's roast with potatoes. He also let me try his side of lasagna soup - delicious tomato based w flavor of a great lasagna; beef, riccotta cheese, noodles, and a creamy tomato sauce base. My Chicken Ceasar Cobb Salad ~ crunchy fresh bite sized Romaine lettuce, a perfect just past soft boiled egg, true bacon crumbles, diced tomato, cubed grilled chicken, and shredded parmasan cheese. This is uniquely served on a small cookie sheet, at first confused BUT the BEST serving choice as the ingredients are portioned to the 4 sides of the lettuce & parmasan! YOU get to mix the salad yourself! GENIUS! Plus cuz it is a HUGE salad to pack the leftovers - you can use the parchment paper below it to pull them into the to-go container. My only issue was the croutons had sat in the grease a bit too long, but I usually skip them anyways so not a big issue for me. As we finished up to go they got real busy - most every table was filled w arriving diners. While waiting for our check which comes w custom Moose candy, it got louder and louder as more hungry folks came in, so we were glad we were done w most conversation and hurried out.

Moose Inn Went here in 5/10/2024 around 1pm… Very nice place to go to. I went with my cousin and we both ordered burgers. She ordered hers with cheese. Mine came up a little rare and I just wanted some pink. Not a big deal, just had them out it back in the veil. We ordered up cheese curds. Normally they do appetizers for dinner but they made some up for us. They were very good. I got fries with my order. Very good, hot and fresh. My cousin got their homemade potato chips. My cousin and I shared and we both liked the chips or fries. I think we both got ice waters to drink. Service was great! This is a great place in Wautoma. They run some great specials for the dinner hour. They are very reasonably priced. Service is very good. Our server(s) We’re awesome. Both people that were working kinda helped each other out with serving the good o answering questions about the menu. I needed to use the bathroom. It was clean. The whole place has a great feel to it, laid out nicely.z the bar area had a tv. They were playing one of the hockey play off games. The bar appeared to be well stocked.z Love supporting local businesses. This place does cater. They do a great job. Highly recommended. Looking forward to going to their bbq place in town meet the golf corse. I have heard good things! Until the next review, Steve-O, out!

The gentleman dropping off catering at Edenwood Ranch and Jessica organizing catering were both fantastic. Everyone's favorite was the chicken. We were thrilled with this meal and their service. Would absolutely do it again. We might pick something other than the beef tips. The food in the restaurant is usually quite good, takeout lunches have been great especially brisket items, takeout dinners have left lots of room for improvement. Be aware also that they charge for soda refills if you dine in.

We have been going to the Moose Inn for over 10 years.. but the last two times we went, this were less than great. This last time was our final straw. We arrived and were told our wait was 30 minutes. Fair enough. over an hour went by, so we inquired when we were to be seated. The snobby older lady hostess tried to inform us it was rather busy so wait times were long.. I understand this (duh it's Friday), but when you say 30 minutes, and its 60 minutes...I have a right to question it. We told her we were going to walk out and surprise, wouldn't you know we get seated. The salad was plain,.. nothing on it?? not even a crouton. Coleslaw was warm and disgusting. Our waitress did not even come to check on us. When she did, I expressed my frustration, no apology or a free drink from the bar. By this time we had been waiting for 30 minutes at our table... seriously.. deep fried cod and shrimp do not take that long. I complained again, and as we stood up to walk out, or food came out. My shrimp tasted like It was dipped in lake water before we received it, and my husbands fish wasn't much better. Our waitress never even checked on us, we had to flag her down to get more fish! I expressed my disappointment to the old hag hostess who again gave us the cold shoulder. I think because we weren't "regulars in our 60's or 70's" or a big group she didn't give a rip. We originally had plans to bring a large group in this Friday. I have since changed our plans and told everyone we will...

Went their to try again check in not to busy inside outside a little party going, were told 20 minutes ok it was over 30 minutes took our drink order about 10 minute wait ,finally took our order we had one boosted chicken, one walleye dinner, an a small rack of ribs, now with dinner now you only get 1i say one side potatoe salad or soup either one thats it ,everyone gets 1 roll know breadsticks anymore or celery, or carrots, or onions no cold slaw and no herring, it took 40 minutes for our food to come another couple next to us was waiting longer .the chicken was the best meal, the walleye was rubbery an tasted like it came from a cesspool in Vietnam the ribs fell off the bone no taste to them a small rack was $20 a full rack was $ 30 a full rack used to be $22 for the walleye was $19 i don't believe prices are that high for junk food they also suggest you tip 20 to 25% for what some one to bring your food out 40 minutes later only after we ask why its taken so long.for the ribs they are not worth $30 or $20 for a have rack an for $19 for walleye that was garbage. This place runs another business an catering service maybe he should consontrate on this restaurant an or sell it. Al would probably turn over in his grave if he new how this restaurant is run. No more for me theirs the silvercrest down the road or drive a little to a good restaurant. More people should write what they thing not...
