Had reservations for Mother's day. There were four of us. The only option was a buffet. I have dietary restrictions but had to make exceptions and take a chance on items. The buffet was not labeled for what things were, other than the obvious foods, you had no idea what was mixed in with the foods. I can't have pepper for example, yet it seemed this was mixed in with just about everything. One grain of pepper causes issues for me. The other members of our party thought that they were far to generous with pepper. Besides myself, another person at our table wasn't feeling well because of the over abundance of spices, so it wasn't just me. The options for desert weren't any better. No labels. There was an employee standing off to the side watching everyone, yet he made no attempts to share information about the foods. Our waitress was nice, but when we arrived I asked if there was any way I could get something else. She said there was only buffet today. With the rise in dietary restrictions people like myself must deal with you would think that restaurants would offer more options. It's not that hard to keep some gluten free ingredients in stock or to cook something without spices in a separate pan. For $22 you'd expect better service. As for the outside of the restaurant, the landscaping was rather drab. There were building materials strewn about. The inside seemed clean, but dated. I do not go out to restaurants often, as most of the time I am disappointed. This was no exception.

Who knew hidden in Mexico, New York there are owners and a chef creating delicious magic sprinkled with unexpected spice. We stayed here one night on our way to a Canadian vacation, rented a room and ate dinner at the restaurant. The restaurant was really delicious. I don't know what potion they put in their bread dipping sauce, but it's like a sweet, light marina with a hot kick. I got the French onion soup and a salad and my partner got the EIS EIS or "ice ice" burger. It was so good he did call it a crack burger. And the best part was how affordable the whole meal was ($30 total!!), the sweetest waitress, and really kind bartender who made us laugh. Make an excuse, or chart your adventure to go through this town. You won't be sorry.

The Eis House was a great experience! My colleagues and I only came for the restaurant and I highly recommend you do as well. You don't need a room to enjoy great food. We got there as the doors opened and so it was empty. We got quickly sat and right to business. Ordering from a variety of drinks and food that we all enjoyed. The service was great and our server was fun and enjoyable, matching the ridiculous energy of our table. It was a Thursday which is flatbread night and we got a could of amazing ones. You customize it yourself which is great. The restaurant itself was really nice inside, It really transported you from it's inconspicuous outside. I think you'll like it here! Enjoy!

Recently went for brunch. We waited approximately 30 minutes for drinks, including just a glass of water - glasses were on the table but not filled. Over 45 minutes to place an order, and over hour before we received food.

When the food arrived one order was wrong - the incorrect fruit was in the stuffed french toast. The other order was missing several of the ingredients listed on the menu, shaved deli ham was used in it (it was an egg scramble), and the English muffin was dry. It took 2 asks for the correct fruit to be brought out and it was only a couple slices of strawberries. It took 3 asks to get butter for the English muffin (they did not have jelly/jam). We got one refill on water after about an hour, if not a little longer.

The fruit was added to the wrong bill (mine). Waitress said she would void it but didn't have time to reprint. They have a cash price and card price. I handed the waitress my check (still with the incorrect total because of the strawberries added to it when they weren't mine) and cash. She came back, charged me the price with strawberries still on it, and shorted me the change on that bill. She then asked me what I owed her - I hadn't done the math because I assumed she would run it through the POS system, which allegedly had a corrected bill/total on it, so I didn't know. She asked me again then just threw a dollar at me.

Meanwhile, no one from management or the owners helped the waitress. No one apologized for any wait. In fact, they seemed to be meeting with a potential wedding in the middle of brunch, standing in the middle of everyone eating, or running around taking pictures.

Thoroughly unimpressed. Overall we were there almost 2 hours and it was almost all waiting for drinks/food. I can understand being busy, running behind, not having enough staff, etc. The fact that no one was trying to help the waitress, the food was just genuinely wrong, and I felt like everyone we interacted acted as if we inconvenienced them when we arrived for brunch (which we had reservations for based on the time they told us to come), is what really was...

I had flown into town to suprise my mother for her 80th birthday; it being my parents favorite restaurant was perfectly coupled with fact that it is a lodge as well, so I was able to maintain being anonymous.|Located just outside the main town, the charm is unrivaled by any other spot in town. The lodge itself is nestled on a beautiful river, I can’t tell you how relaxing it is to wake up to the sound of the icy water flowing outside my window and the sound of geese that have settled there. It was a gorgeous winter setting, and an easy walk over to have coffee waiting for me, and one of the heartiest breakfasts I’ve ever had while being warmed by an old wood stove. The business is owned by arguably the most charismatic family I’ve ever met, and all have a passion that befits their role there. The other guests there are very very friendly; being a stranger in town almost means nothing and was quickly swapping stories with them immediately. They accommodated a large party very easily, and our server was not only attentive, but very warm, friendly, and on top of his work despite having a full section. The dinner food was amazing, the drinks were fantastic, and some of us even stayed until close ( having lodging available makes it very easy to just stay). I also stayed for New Years, the party they threw was legendary, the band was so amazing, and everyone up dancing and singing to playlists well into the night.|I honestly look forward to staying there over the summer because the area is beautiful and in proximity to Lake Ontario as well as being just outside the city of Oswego. I highly, highly recommend staying or just visiting here. It’s truly an experience, especially as a get away in a beautiful...

I just had my wedding reception at the Eiss House this previous weekend. We had 190 guest and every single one of them had a great time and was served in a perfect manner. The food was great and every single part of the reception went smoothly. We even hung around an extra twenty minutes at the end because our Limo was late. The staff was polite and even had fun at our reception. If you are looking to make a friend and hire someone who will be around you your whole wedding night, maybe Paul at the Eiss House isn't your guy. If you want a true professional who handles everything in an orderly fashion and really knows how to plan a party and take care of every small detail, Paul at the Eiss House is the guy I would hire. With that said our entire experience was perfect at the Eiss House. Once the reception started, I saw Paul one time to make sure everything was all set and from that point forward, his friendly staff took care of everything. We literally did not have one single issue. Reading some of the below issues makes me think that poor planning was a part of some of those weddings. If you plan a time where your wedding is before another one....obviously you will feel rushed out....use your brain. They are a business that is trying to make money just like everyone else. I think it is a shame that a single negative review can be put on her about the Eiss House. Our experience was not only awesome, It was literally PERFECT! Good luck finding a place that can compete with Pricing and...
