The Ice-Burgh — Restaurant in Town of Middleburgh

This was our first visit to the new The Ice-Burgh in beautiful Middleburgh NY. Offering soft, hard ice-cream and a limited food menu, The Ice-Burgh offers a quick stop to eat with a gorgeous view. The food menu consists of hot dog, hamburger/cheeseburger, crispy chicken sandwich (spicy and regular), hand cut french fries, onion rings, mozzarella sticks, fried pickle chips, Mac n Jack/ Mac n cheese bites and cheese curds.

We decided on the cheeseburger and onion rings with zesty sauce. I found the beef patty of decent size with a nice bun, the cheese was a bit lacking, it should be nice and melty. Also perhaps in the future offer lettuce and tomato as standard and Bacon for an upcharge (because Bacon makes everything better). Also we found one burger a bit under done for Dawn's liking so I offered to switch with her, she doesn't believe she was asked for degree of doneness at the time of the order. We found the onion rings nice and crisp and the zesty sause added a nice kick.

We finished with 2 baby size soft twists with chocolate sprinkles, cone in a cup. A nice treat to end the visit.

The Ice-Burgh offers a number of picnic tables with umbrellas with a view looking towards the majestic Vroman's Nose mountain.

Located in what's easily one of the most beautiful parts of the Preston Hollow, Middleburgh, Schoharie area; on NY State Route 145, not long before crossing into Albany County, is the Ice-Burgh. They always seem to have a wide variety of Perry's Hard Ice Cream, and Crowley's soft ice cream in (at least) Vanilla, Chocolate and "twist" varieties. I've never been disappointed with their portions or their prices. And, as I said, the area is beautiful. Plus, even when crowded, the staff is polite and keeps on top of the grounds. I've seen people there with their families; friends on motorcycles; couples and families with their pets there. One trip there and I personally think you'll see and understand why: It's welcoming, the view is the quintessential definition of beautiful; scenic. And, it's easy to find a half hour's disappeared as you've enjoyed your preferred treat and gotten lost...

Maybe I’m crazy for complaining about this, but when I order a “baby” size, which is supposed to be one scoop, maybe it’s because I want a reasonably sized ice cream for my child. I wanted one scoop, not 3 for a hard cone and a stack almost twice as high as the cone for a soft serve. It’s annoying and wasteful, because even my sugar loving kids can’t finish these cones, but they’re sad because they want to. It’s ok to serve a small portion of ice cream! Have a “baby, seriously” size or something, I’ll pay the same amount for it! And yes, I know they have “squirts” that are smaller, but it’s on a smaller cone that is then loaded with more ice cream than it can hold and...
