The Wind-Chill Factory & Mini-Golf at Ballston Spa — Restaurant in Town of Milton

Three of us went on a weeknight about 5pm. First time for all of us. Parking area was nerve wracking, only 2 spots left, families/kids walking everywhere. We were third in line to order & customer service was excellent. Food made to order, waited about 15 minutes for our receipt # to be called. Was able to find a picnic table under a tree to sit at. We ordered Mushroom/Swiss burger, which was terrible. The burger was well over done and hard all around the edge, only ate half of it. The onion rings were slightly warm & needed salt. Two Michigan hot dogs & another hot dog with sauerkraut & mustard were also ordered. The Michigan sauce was way too sweet and the hot dogs were cold. The hotdog with sauerkraut had way too much mustard on top and had to be scraped off. Sorry, no pics. The food was terrible, but we will go back and try some ice cream in the near future. For the record, while we were there we only saw families eating ice cream cones, sundaes, banana splits, and drinking milkshakes. We did not see any other people eating lunch/dinner items. They have a play area for children plus a miniature golf course, which was not in use that evening. When we left, the place was packed. There were no parking spots left, so people were parking on the grass or walking over from the Hannaford store. We will give it another try...

The one in Ticonderoga has been my favorite summer place for a couple of years. This one was closer so we tried it out. The food was terrible and so was the customer service. I did an online order. Ordered a pretzel and cheese. No cheese was given. I ordered a kids meal with a drink. The drink wasn’t given. I also had to ask for the side of ranch for the veggies. The girl was rude and didn’t really want to help me. She kept yelling what size drink!? I said, the one that comes with the kids meal? Idk I don’t work there. I explained what I needed 3 times. The Michigan burger had very little to no Michigan sauce on it. The fried veggies had 7 pieces tops in it. We weren’t impressed. The poor customer service was very disappointing. The Windchill factory is not your average ice cream place. The ice cream and food alike, is top notch. The service is always pleasant. Big bonus, you get an entire experience here. My family and I frequent the establishment almost weekly, and my kids love the use of the pirate ship playground.

With that being said, you may occasionally find food/garbage on the playground and unfortunately that seems to be due to a lack of active supervision from parents while kids/teens are in that area. The picnic table area and peeing counter are always clean and well kept.

If you’re ever tempted to try this place and you’re not sure what to get, get whatever the weekly special is, and I can almost guarantee you will be back...
