Bennett's Junction House — Restaurant in Town of Monroe

Giving a 1-STAR rating wouldn't be quite low enough. We heard this was a great place for their Fish-Fry and was really looking forward to it. We got there around 6:00. It took about 15 minutes to get a table which is chaotic in itself. You just need to watch for a table to open up and grab it without knowing who was next in line, though everyone handled that well. We then helped clear the table and the server finished up. From there it was over 30 minutes where we had no contact from anyone. There were at least 3 tables that came in after us that had their orders taken and 2 of those had salads delivered to them. Still, no one came to our table. I do want to point out the server was very pleasant, but I have to assume very overwhelmed. It was just disappointing to be ignored for that long. After waiting for those 30+ minutes at the table, we just got up and left. My friend had left his phone on the table and had to go back into to get it. Even then, no one asked why we had left. I'm hoping this is an isolated case as I have to assume the food is good. Maybe we'll try it...

Bar tenders were absolutely wonderful, we were visiting family and asked if they could turn on the Bears game for us, ( just one of their 5 tvs) while they were searching for the right channel, some of the customers were incredibly rude. One guy stepped behind the bar, not sure if he worked there or not, but he made some rude comments as we walked out the door (turns out the game wasn't on tv this week) we were grateful the bartenders tried for us, but the customers really make it hard to ever want to go back. I really hope most Illinois bars don't make packer fans feel unwelcome in that way. Worked out in the end, Packers...

Ate at this place two years ago, food and service was fantastic. Stopped in recently and ordered prime rib sandwich. When it was set down on my table I immediately smelled something sour. The au jaus smelled bar, the sandwich smelled bad. I couldn’t eat it. I waited for waiter to return to table, my friends finished their meal, and we continued to wait for service. I finally gave up and went up to bar, told bartender the sandwich was bad, her reply was very rude and that I was wrong. I had to pay full price for meal and left hungry. Food and Service was the worst. Will never go...
