Wow! Wow! Wow! I’ve been coming to upstate New York for four years now and had never been to this place. A friend of ours told us if we want some great breakfast or lunch, “Go to Debbie’s Cafe”! We remembered this as we were looking for lunch today and WOW! First off it’s a cute lil diner/cafe nestled in town only about 5 miles from where we stay. We were seated right away at a cute table outside. Service was instant (which is almost non-existent these days). Our server was very friendly and courteous, I didn’t catch her name but she had blonde hair. I found what I wanted on the menu right away, the Grilled Tuna Melt. I have not been able to find a tuna melt that is exactly how a tuna melt should taste, for a VERY long time, so had to give it a go. My hubs ordered the fried buffalo chicken sandwich. When we ordered she asked us what we’d like for our side and we were both going to get chips but she recommended the fries and said, “They are the best in town”, so of course we ordered the fries. The food came out very promptly and piping hot and smelling good! The first bite I took, I actually moaned! No joke!! Then the next one and next one, more moans. The hubs looked at me and said, Damn, is that good or something? Do you need a mop!?? We laughed but I said, You HAVE to try this! He did and said, oh I get it now. That IS great! He was digging into his just as much. I never finish a full meal but today I did. It was AMAZING. We paid only $24.00 for two full amazing meals and two iced teas great price for such quality food! I used the restroom before we left and they looked like they were brand new. Good smells and super clean! This place is a hidden gem of the Sauquoit/New Hartford area and I cannot wait to go back!! I’d give it 10 stars if I could and a major two thumbs up! Way to go Debbie’s and staff....
Read moreI decided to go to Debbie’s this morning for a Mothers Day breakfast with my daughter. The night before I checked their Facebook page in case there was a special event which required reservations. I found no evidence of that online. When we arrived at Debbie’s, the hostess asked if we had reservations. She told us she could seat us, but we needed to leave before 9 because the table was reserved. My daughter and I had a wonderful breakfast (omg those pistachio waffles!!) and I was teaching her how to calculate tip based off the bill when the hostess came up to our table, tapped the table with her nail and reminded us that our table was reserved for 9am and we couldn’t linger. (It was 8:48am) As a single mom trying to have a decent morning with her daughter I’m appalled by this treatment. I understand that Mother’s Day is an extremely busy morning, but I would have preferred to be turned away at the door instead of harassed to leave. On a positive note, our waitress was amazing and the food...
Read moreWent on a Sunday morning which I’m aware is probably their busiest time. Regardless, we walked in and waited to be sat. multiple staff saw us standing and looked at us and completely ignored our existence. No “hello, be right with you” just stared at us like we weren’t supposed to be there. Our waitress was kind and seemed slammed with tables so we were incredibly understanding. She had only visited us a few times during our stay. Worst part of all, it took an entire hour just to receive our food. We were only a party of 2 and ordered very basic breakfast meals so there was absolutely no reason it should have taken that long. Food was okay. very basic middle of line diner food, nothing special. Price was decent for what you received. Decent experience just horrible...
