Normally we would give a great review, however our last visit where we took guests for lunch, a party of 8 to start with they only had 2 servers on which made it difficult on them, as they had a party of 16 arriving Shortly after we arrived for our reservation. The waitress told us she wanted us to quickly place our orders before the large party arrived, understandable on her part but rushed for us... Our food came, but one of our guests who I might add is an experienced, talented, long time professional in food service himself, stated that the salad he ordered "tasted and smelled off". The waitress took it back, as she should. The owner came out and stated that the guest must just " must not have liked it!" Not the case, he typically orders Greek salad many times at other restaurants and thoroughly enjoying them, no complaints. Even his wife said it "smelled off". The owner stated, "we cannot loose money, just because someone doesn't like something." Did we want to take it home, ( the one who had the complaint had to leave before the rest us 7) Why would we the hosts, paying the $215.00 + want to take something home and risk illness from something that tasted off??? One ( first time guest) commented "What happened to the customer always being right?" My Cobb salad was good accept the tomatoes were like they had sat in a bowl in a fridge and had gotten soft and watery, definitely not fresh cut. I let that slide, now I wish I hadn't.They charged us anyway for his salad he couldn't eat. Not good customer relations. By the way the guest who complained about the salad is a food service business owner himself, so understands and compensates if one of his customers has a complaint. We have frequented Brookside many times with numerous guests, in our party, but this has changed our opinion of suggesting Brookside for the future gatherings. Now they have lost more business than the cost of the salad ... unfortunately. Customer Satisfaction is of unmost importantace in a...
ย ย ย Read moreCame for a wedding reception this evening. It was a very informal reception, children welcome. Venue was nicely decorated. Buffet style meal. One server on. Server was very attentive and cordial. Bar tender was amazing and wonderful with the many children attending. Owner Tammy, however, came over to the table at about 9:30pm, tapped me on the shoulder, and asked why there were rose petals on the floor. Children were playing with flowers and throwing rose petals around. She told me it was not in her job description to pick up the flower petals, and if I was going to clean them up. I would like to note that I have no children of my own, and all of the children in attendance belonged to other people at the reception. I then took the time to pick up all of the debris off the floor, took all glasses, pitchers, and empty bottles to the bar. I moved all of the childrenโs coloring books, bubbles, and sandals into a contained location. Of all the people to approach, Tammy chose to come up to non imbibing attendee at a random table. I understand that a reception with children can be taxing, however, the behavior displayed, and the audacity to approach a random guest not in the wedding party about rose petals on the floor is just preposterous. I would have never bothered to write a review if this didnโt happen. The food was subpar at best, and it was small wedding. Very disappointing to be approached in...
ย ย ย Read moreThe food here is consistently good. Most every time I come here, it is a pleasant experience with friendly service.
This time i got the 8oz serloin with lobstertail special.
I'll start off with the sides. I got the roasted veggies and garlic mashed potatoes. The veggies were a mixture of peppers onions zucchini and squash they were cooked perfectly and not to soft. They paired really well with the garlic mashed potatoes and the steak.
The lobster tail was also cooked perfectly. Not over cooked and had a light amoint of garnish on it with plenty of butter and a lemon wedge provided added a little flavor.
Next the steak. Ordered medium rare but seemed to be maybe a little more on the rare side. This was fine for me as i actually like rare seared stakes but i would say this was still cooked pretty much to order within expectations. The steak was not tough but not too tender either. The only issue i had was a lack of flavor. I added salt and pepper from the table and it was still realy good but without it the steak tasted like it had very little or no seasoning while cooking. If there was more seasoning while cooking or even some steak butter or garlic butter added on top right before serving the steak would have been elevated to the next level.
The meal also had o few onion rings and a garlic knot with the stake nothing to say there they were also...
