Cozy and inviting roadside cafe; really tasty food! FOOD: My boyfriend and I stopped here on the way back from a hike. The CT Lobster rolls on a sign out front caught my eye and tasted even better than they looked. Warm and buttery and served with a side salad. I ordered the classic Mac and cheese - this exceeded my expectations. Creamy, cheesy with a crispy herbal topping. DRINKS: Didn’t go for anything alcoholic, got a root bear which was sweet and tasty. I did notice that this spot had a variety of IPA’s and good amount of healthy refreshing drinks, and homemade lemonades too. SERVICE: The server’s were really nice and were great with suggesting different food options. AMBIANCE: For a roadside stop, this place is pretty quaint. It’s small inside but has a nice size patio along the side that leads out into the parking lot. Lots of greenery around and nice that this place is dog-friendly. OVERALL: Definitely a great spot to grab a bite of something good and relax before hitting the road again.

I took my wife out for a late lunch to the 9W Market because I had been there back in August I had a good experience.

Food My wife and I ordered the Spicy Fried Chicken sandwich. The Sandwich itself comes with two thick slices of breaded chicken breast along with the Chipotle Mayo, Pickles on a Brioche Bun. I found the Bun to be too soft and flaky. The sandwich wasn't cut up in halves so it pretty much fell apart after taking the first bite. I ended up using a fork and knife to eat it. It definitely did not hold up to the $18.95 price.

Dessert: I ordered the giant chocolate chip cookie. The Cookie was nice and warm with melted chocolate inside. It tasted pretty good.

Service: Right after we ordered, the person at the counter forgot to give us a buzzer. So I had to ask another person at the counter to get the buzzer. I think this was an honest mistake that anyone could do so I didn't care much.

The Atmosphere: When you walk into the restaurant, there is a funky smell. Some restaurants tend to have this smell, so I didn't really worry about it too much. We decided to dine in.

After we ordered and paid for our food, we went to grab a table. We noticed that all the empty tables all had crumbs and bits on it. We used a napkin to wipe off the table. The table was a bit sticky. This was strike 1.

Since my sandwich started falling apart, I grabbed a set of fork and a knife and decided to use it to eat my sandwich. The utensils all had a stains on them and looked like they weren't properly washed with soap. This was strike 2

The combination of a dirty table and utensils that looked like they weren't washed or cleaned properly made me ask myself on whether I should have came here in the first place. The funky smell in the restaurant did not help and I couldn't fully enjoy the sandwich. This ended up being strike 3 and made me want to just finish eating and leave the place.

Recommendation for the management:

  1. Please get rid of the funky smell
  2. Please clean the tables after each customer leaves. You may have to employ more staff.
  3. Please do a better job of cleaning the utensils and ensure there...

Well, my particular experience with 9W Market is based on a specific niche, that being motorcycles. This place hosts a Bikes And Breakfast gathering the first Sunday of every month and motorcyclists from all over the Tri-State Area drop in to show off their bikes, chat up old friends, find new riding partners, etc. This past Sunday was my first visit and it did not disappoint. Freakin BILL MURRAY... yeah, you know.. Ghostbusters, etc?... showed up for about 30 minutes and wandered around chatting with bikers. Hot damn! Lots of awesome vintage BMWs, a couple Moto Guzzis, and totally friendly people. I went inside to grab and iced cappuccino and an absolutely perfect Dulce De Leche donut. The place was mobbed but the staff handled everything with poise and ease. Great selection of pastries and other breakfast items, extensive coffee/espresso menu, and plenty of different treats which, if the donut was any proof, are most likely amazing. There's a sign out front that claims they have the best burger in NY... 9am is bit early for a burger for me but I'm intrigued. I'm thinking of a mid week evening trip out there to see if they can put their money where their mouth is. Undoubtedly I'll be going back every first Sunday of every month, but I can tell you, ignoring the motorcycles, this looks like, feels like and tastes like the perfect mom and pop run roadside eatery that towns up and down the Hudson are famous for. I can't imagine a misstep in anything here, but I haven't given it the...
