For years, my parents have raved about this place but I’ve yet to be impressed, primarily because of the service. But today… was the worst!! We were pleasantly surprised upon arrival when we couldn’t find anywhere to park, we walked in to hear it was going to be a 15 minute wait for a table for four. Great start! Even better, it was 15 minutes or less and we were seated right on the water! However, that was where everything went south. Once seated, it was never 10 minutes until we were acknowledged. At that point we had to ask for water. The server came back with three waters for our party of four. My parents were there days before and warned us that our waitress did not do well the last time we were there and I may want to ask for someone else. I wish I had! We ordered drinks, two beers, Prosecco and a vodka tea. Simple right? We received three of four, missing a beer and she had no idea how to open the bottle of Prosecco. (No worries, we’ve got this.) we had to ask for our 4th water and the missing beer. It never came. Eventually we asked another waitress for assistance and she was super helpful!!
Fast forward. One app and 4 entres, nothing special, no big deal. Then salads came. Nothing much of an issue except THERE WAS A HAIR draped right across the salad. The three or is that didn’t find hair in our salad were completely done before the waitress came back at which point we mentioned the hair although it was too late to do anything.
Then our dinners came. This was the only good part of the service. The food was all correct, cooked well and delicious! Better than I remembered! However this was the one time I remember the food being what I could call “good.” Not over the top, but not all places are. It was good, and a great value for the price.
In all of this, we had to ask for water more times than I can count!! With family who serve, we understand bar service struggles, kitchen struggles, ect. But get me friggen water!! And come back once in a while and ask how we are!!
All in all, I’m less than content with this establishment and to be honest, even with my parents liking it although embarrassed, it will be a long while before I can give them another chance. Very VERY...
Read moreI have been coming here since I could walk and LOVE this place, BUT there are some serious flaws.
Let’s start with the positives:
The food is awesome. Genuinely one of the best menus in the area. Their red sauce is the best I have ever had. I could drink glasses of it. There are no bad options to choose. Some dishes can be overpriced relatively but the dishes will always end up being a good meal.
Their meal specials are always delicious and I especially love the salmon cakes.
The ambiance cannot be beaten in the area. The water views, the dock down below, the patio, it’s all picturesque. They had a recent 2025 remodel which looks great.
The wine list is great and very fairly priced per glass.
Now, let’s get into the flaws and why I felt I needed to make a review after so many years frequenting the place…
The service is AWFUL 90% of the time. More specifically, it can take over an hour to receive food. That’s abysmal. The service is so poor at times that it makes me think: If this place were a new restaurant opening elsewhere, without the views, they’d be out of business after one summer season. Plan to spend 3 hours here MINIMUM.
The parking is horrendous. Not that they can really help that; but I find myself parking at the post office and walking like a half mile…. Ridiculous.
The cocktails are nothing special and are overpriced.
The live music is ok but is super loud and distracts from the otherwise nice eating area. Sometimes it’s loud to the point you can’t hear yourself think.
All that being said I’m giving them a 4/5. Other than the service and other minor issues my family and I LOVE Foxy’s. We just wish the ownership group would care a little more about the...
Read moreWe arrived at 6pm and saw a packed restaurant which usually should be a good sign as if it’s busy it must be good. I now believe that it’s packed due to not a lot of options locally.
The host seemed terrified about what was going on but stated the wait would be 15 minutes. (Clearly that was not going to be the case) and she didn’t need our number she would “find us” 30 min later she waved us over and we were sat down and told our server would be with us.
As we waited for the server to arrive I noticed a look of bewilderment on nearly every employee in the restaurant. A gentlemen in a backwards hat (who I assume is the owner) was speed walking from the kitchen to the host stand giving orders. Another plain clothes woman (assume also owner) was bussing tables running food and introduced our server Blake.
Blake and the aforementioned other unnamed individual were the only positive things of this experience. Blake tried as hard as humanly possible to take care of the multiple tables that he had on top of us. We ordered drinks and watched them sit in the service window for 15 min before he had a moment to drop them.
We ordered our food which took nearly an hour for two mid rare steaks and a pasta. While waiting we observed the two positive employees do nearly everything that could be done running food talking to guests and trying to keep it afloat.
When the food arrived it was mediocre at best under seasoned and the shrimp drowned in unflavored butter. I hope just a bad night but we...
