Hamburger Haus — Restaurant in Town of Osceola

Drove out today from Sheboygan, heard great things lately, haven't been there in years, decided to check it out. Pretty disappointed. Had like 3/4 onion rings in the order for almost $4 and undercooked, double cheeseburger, also undercooked, (If I'm being honest, it sure didn't taste like a hamburger, mystery meat) hard roll was old and crumbling, and I can tell by other pictures people have shared, it's a norm for them to serve old hard rolls, live in the hard roll capital so I know hard rolls when there are fresh n when they are not, French fries were cold, cheese curds were cold, basically everything on our order was cold, freezer burned ice cream in the root beer floats, etc. Pretty much the only good thing were the Mac n cheese bites my granddaughter had. $50+ dollars Disappointed is an understatement. Probably wouldn't be back. Not sure how you have the positive reviews, guess people just don't know what good restaurant grilled food should taste like. Im still not sure what the "Hamburger" meat is, sure wasn't Hamburger tho. Also I'm not sure why anyone would wait in line all that time, we waited probably 30 minutes...

Stopped in for ice cream shake. Really wanted a cone, but still had a ways to drive and I would have made a mess trying to drive and eat just the single scoop cone. Their single scoop is the size of 3 scoops at other ice cream shops. Knowing this, I very much enjoyed watching the amazed shocks of newcomers who thought a two or three scoop cone was going to be "normal" sized. The sight of their towering cones brought welcome elation while waiting in line, socially Distancing, during the extreme heat index. I've had their burgers and fries before, and are scrumptious. However, while I was hungry, the last thing I wanted was to eat hot food on such an unbearably hot/humid day.....although I commended those doing so on the patio area! I think what I really love about this place is that it hadn't changed one bit in all the years its operated. It had been almost 10 yrs since my last visit - just because I rarely travel that route these days - and it felt as if I had just been there last week. Awesome feeling in this Pandemic era...

Loved this little hole-in-the-wall spot! My whole family got burgers and said they were awesome, fresh buns and quality meat. I had the grilled cheese and liked that it used real cheese, not the processed singles kind. The fries and mac bites came out hot and crispy. It was very busy, and while the wait to order took a bit, the food came out quickly.

The ice cream portions are massive, which is fun in theory, but I noticed a lot of people throwing it out, not because it wasn’t good, but because even the smallest size (baby size) is two full scoops. It might be a good idea to add a secret menu option with an (actually) small cone, maybe call it something like the “itty bitty”. Just something for those of us who want a small treat without the waste! Or for toddlers, lol.

Also note that they are cash (or local checks) only, and our cell phones did not work at all, even for map...
