Stopped in here on the way back home from business trips into the New England area to grab a bite to eat. It had been a while since I've eaten at a Country Pride, so I thought "Sure, why not"
I ordered the Pot Roast dinner, which came with mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and garlic bread.
Let's start with the garlic bread, in short it was bland and tasteless. You can barely taste the garlic on it, but at least it wasn't rock hard or stale.
The green beans needed something to liven them up, salt goes a long way. But they were good enough I suppose.
The mashed potatoes were pretty good. Fortunately, they had the gravy there because without the gravy they also would have been lifeless and bland (and without salt)
Now, the pot roast was actually pretty good. Nice, tender, moist chunks of meat and decently flavored. Very nice.
Now onto the service. Service was fantastic, my waitress was professional, friendly and eager to please her customers. She was also prompt with anything I needed. Well done.
Overall, it's okay for the price I paid ($21 and some change). Not great, not terrible, and it did the job it was supposed to do. Still, I'll probably head over to Denny's next time...
Read moreDecided to go to Country Pride Truck Stop in Corfu, NY. I had told my boyfriend that this place usually has a simply AMAZING salad bar & good meals to boot. The server immediately began our nightmare visit. She walked up and literally threw silverware in little paper sacks right on the table and said "Drinks?". I can oversee a waitress though because they wont get a tip. We were there almost 2 hours. The salad bar was never replenished other than with rancid ranch dressing. Told the server it was spoiled and she NEVER did anything about it. Ordered ziti and it was a microwaved mess with noodles that were to hard to eat and tasted like a refridgerator. The soups were lukewarm at best and tasted like poor quality baby food. I use to LOVE this place. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!! New food, cooks & Servers would...
Read moreWaitress was fantastic but the food was over priced for the little you get. My husband and I both got a cup of soup which was good, but we ordered the mozzarella planks and you only get 4 for 8.99 and they aren't that big so it 2.25 per log which is ridiculous. Then we each got a dessert, the chocolate cake was half the size they used to be and the apple pie rolls were basically all wonton and almost no apple filling. Not to mention 4.00 for a cup of soda. We spent $45 on next to no food. We have been to a lot of country pride/iron skillets over the years and all over the country and it's really sad how they have declined. It used to be after a long day on the road us truckers could go in for a good sized meal and now it's just skimpy portions and...
