Embers 1871 — Restaurant in Town of Peshtigo

After a nice afternoon drive, we decided to stop and have dinner. We were on the back roads of Peshtigo and came across a restaurant called Embers 1871. When we walked in, we met by a smiling, happy woman who said you must be new around here. We asked why she said no one uses that door. That’s how I know you’re new we apologize and she said it’s OK with a big smile. Everyone comes in that door. They all think that’s the entrance. I spent many years in the Restaurant business so I can be a difficult customer. I expect good food, a clean restaurant great service and above all to wanna tell everybody how great it is when I leave the woman who made us at the door ended up being our Server being new she went over the menu with us told us some of her favorites and told us some of the favorites of the people who come in often The whole time with a smile and just a general great attitude, I ordered the meatloaf. My partner ordered the fish fry. She said enjoy the salad bar before your meal. And boy did weEverything was so fresh well stocked, and the soups were Fantastic By the time our food came, we were pretty much stuffed because we hadn’t experience such a nice Salad bar in a long time. Our food was served and after two bites, my partner said OMG This is the best fish I have ever had. I wonder what they use for coating. My meatloaf and the mashed potatoes were both fantastic as well. As we were enjoying our meal, I kept looking around and observing the restaurant as I usually do I can be a bit of a pain I noticed a younger crew that seemed To be so well trained and working like a team, it was a pleasant experience to see a group of people working so hard together. I noticed our Server seem to have her hands and everything from being in the kitchen to the bar to being on the floor, serving food just everything and I thought wow I hope They appreciate how hard she works. We then found out she was the owner All we know is her name was Sherri We noticed the little things the team seemed to be of. Helping each other out cleaning each other’s tables, including our Server, she was even cleaning people’s tables the little things like picking things up off the floor the things you don’t Notice all the time in restaurants After enjoying the perfect dinner, our server brought over the dessert tray. There was no way we could decline having dessert. Everything looks so good and I’m happy we did because I’m still trying to figure out where they get their desserts so I can buy them when I’m not At embers. That one experience quickly made this our favorite restaurant after getting married this past year I sent a message to the restaurant asking if they could help With a special surprise dinner for my spouse. Within minutes to my surprise, Sherri responded to my message saying what can I do and when do you need it? We arrived and it Felt like we were the only customers there although it was crowded and busy on a Friday night we had the most amazing meal and service and a little extra added on because Sherri knew it was a special Evening for us. Again, amazing food, amazing dessert, amazing service, and a beautiful atmosphere to enjoy your dinner in Time slipped by and things come up and you just don’t have the time to thank people for what they do for you but we want to take the time to thank you Sherri and your team for everything you do to make each visit and experience not just a night out for dinner Your team and yourself obviously care about your restaurant and making sure that your restaurant service stays at a high level andAmazing quality of food. It’s hard to choose what to eat when you come in with your ever-changing menu of amazing specials You create monthly. You know the meatloaf is my favorite, but we keep coming back to try more and more because of that first visit you took such great care of us your entire staff as well. We were on our way back from Marquette Michigan on Labor Day this year and were seeking a new place to dine. Being Labor Day, our choices were limited to local pubs that were open. We did, however, find that a supper club (we seek these out regularly) was open, Embers 1871. We called to verify, and yes, they were indeed open. We pulled into the parking lot, and there was only one car. We were greeted by one of the staff taking a break outside. We did mention that we were surprised to find a supper club open on Labor Day. We entered Embers to find a clean, updated, pleasant atmosphere. We were greeted by the very friendly bartender. We walked up to the hostess to inquire about dining. The hostess was very friendly as well and suggested we start our experience with a cocktail as is the standard practice for supper club dining and she will get our table ready. Yes, we agreed and ordered a couple of their specialty smoked old fashions to start our experience. The smoked cocktail is an experience on its own, and they both tasted very good. After some pleasant conversation, we were informed that the hostess was also the owner. We were summoned to our table and our first peek into the dining area. As stated, the entire building had a recent update, and everything was clean and new. Lots of windows in the dining area, very inviting. We noticed a well stocked salad bar with all the expectations as well as the up north (goose I believe) liver pate I used to find at most northern salad bars. Everything was fresh and plentiful. As there was only one other couple dining, we felt like we got the VIP treatment. The hostess/owner was also our waitress. After checking out the very well planned menu, we ordered our meals. My lady partner got the shrimp pasta with the salad bar, I got the 3 tenderloin medallions. As we were waiting for our meals, we took a trip to the salad bar. As stated, all the expectations plus two soups. Everything was fresh tasty. We were served warm bread and olive oil and balsamic dipping sauce, which was also very good. The hostess owner chatted with us for a bit and gave us her background and how her culinary journey brought her to open Embers 1871. Very pleasant lady who strives for customer satisfaction as a top priority. Our meals were served meeting our expectations on presentation and taste. I am a stickler for a rare cooked steak, and they nailed it. All the food tasted excellent and we were very pleased. Our waitress/hostess/owner checked on us frequently throughout our meal. She even brought out a huge selection of homemade desserts. There were fresh pies, layered cakes, cheesecakes, and probably about 10 selections. We did choose a decadent chocolate layered cake desserts to split to complete the food coma. All said, and done, when you have an owner working multiple roles in their establishment to ensure the complete dining experience and customer satisfaction, you need to make this a destination I am sure Embers 1871 will become a favorite spot to stop. Kudos to the Embers staff, thankyou for all you do. We are bringing two other couples with us this evening to share the Embers...

Not just your average Supper Club. It’s an experience. We had an amazing dinner and the service was great. The food even better. And I could have made a meal out of the Salad Bar! So many options then you see the soups. I’m not a soup person but the Steak Potato Soup? Please forgive if wrong is a meal in its self! I had to have more. Then the food! Perch Combo and Chicken Alfredo. We were not disappointed at all. I highly recommend you try this place. Great prices, great food, great team service with smiles and amazing customer service. We had an a great second meal after deciding to try the salad bar. Oh that soup!!!! I wish you had doggie boxes for that 🤣. You can tell the manager knows how to develop their team and menu. Prices are extremely reasonable for the outstanding menu options. Make sure to try the salad bar. You’re going get more than you pay for. Our server was so nice. She noticed we loved the bread and were getting stuffed with everything we had eaten. She boxed our left overs and put a the extra bread we had ordered in with our left overs. Even the dipping sauce! Who does that! Thank you for the experience not just the meal to the entire team and the manager for making it feel more like visiting with friends not just ordering a meal and getting the check. We passed on dessert this time but we stopped again to look at them, we were weakening. We definitely will save room for dessert next time They all look homemade. We have a bet on the chocolate cakes. I say homemade! We definitely will return for those smiles and the laughs. It was also nice to see clean well dressed employees.
