The Jailhouse saloon — Restaurant in Town of Pine Lake

Has always been one of my favorites. Randy runs one awesome bar. Could not believe the price of the clam strips. No one has them that big and reasonably priced. Drinks are not too pricey but it's hard to find scratch mix bars with fresh garnishes (like strawberry margaritas from scratch and real strawberries) anywhere in the Northwoods. But you will find your usual seasonal favorite craft beers, blended premade slush beverages. Not much of a wine menu. I can also say... Where else, in Rhinelander or the Northwoods , would you find a reggae ska band that rocked the house? And you can pull up to the place on a boat!!!! Makes for fun nights and...

Nice atmosphere. We went around 5 so it was not to busy. It wasn't so loud you couldn't talk/hear comfortably. The bartender was quirky, maybe a little cocky, but all smiles, and patient being our first time there and not knowing the way he runs things. Portions were big. I got nacho supreme and could not eat it all. My husband got 1/2 lb bacon cheeseburger with thick bacon. He will probably order a smaller one next time. His only complaint was no salt on the fries or salt on the table. We will visit again, probably try...

Food was pretty good. That’s about the only positive thing I could say about this place. Went there late evening for dinner and a beer. Music was so loud me and my group couldn’t even talk to each other. Asked the bartender if he could please turn the music down and he said no. He was obviously very high. The only two customers at the bar came over and harassed my group as well for “stolen valor” because my buddy had camouflage on. Would never come back...
