We have purchased through Slumberland prior and have had good experience which was why we returned to purchase a recliner chair. When the chair was delivered and set up, I asked the delivery person about the battery backup that we spent a lot of additional money to purchase. How it worked. There were no batteries. I asked why and the delivery person didn't know and didn't know what batteries I had to purchase to get this feature to work. He then said I should buy two 12 volt batteries. I wrote that down and I went to Walmart and could not find 12 volt and googled it. Found out that 12 volts were huge batteries and called Slumberland while at Walmart. The person who answered the phone and after hearing my dilemma did not know what batteries to purchase to get this feature operational and couldn't have cared less. The individual said maybe it took 10 volt batteries and that apparently Lazy Boy did not provide batteries for this function. I said I didn't realize that was a Lazy Boy feature as you could have it added to any recliner chair. I told the person I was not happy because I was standing in Walmart not sure the batteries needed and then there was no one on the phone anymore. Hmmm. I guess they were done talking to me. I guessed at purchasing two 9 volt batteries which were the correct ones. Really poor customer service. We spent over $1,500 on this chair with removing old and delivery of new despite the store being within blocks of delivery. I would have expected better from the employees to assist us with this backup function which was over $500. At least to inform that I needed to get the batteries in advance. Well, I guess they already had...
Read moreI purchased a piece of furniture that wasn’t originally inspected. I took it home in the box. Delivery for the piece of furniture wasn’t even brought up during the purchasing. One of the drawers was broken from the manufacture. They came to do a swap out. They wore their muddy boots in with no booties on. Tracked mud and dirt through my house and on the white carpeting. The individuals doing a swap did not Inspect the new piece of furniture with me. Just dropped it off took the old one and left. I notice shortly after they left that the piece has a flaw in the wood work on one of the corners. It was sanded down further then the rest of the corners And is noticeably lighter making it stand out. I’m Not even going to bother getting a new one or it fix. But I would suggest that you have your employees do better inspections on the furniture before bringing it to a customers home. I was excited about this new piece of furniture but now I’m just disappointed.I was excited about this new piece of furniture but now I’m just...
Read moreI chose Slumberland because they advertised a recliner chair by Ashley for$198.00 and due to back issues I needed it right away and wanted to take it home with me. Well, I found out that wasn't possible because it would take 7-8 months to get it from the company because of the Covid-19 situation. So, the sales employee Jim Gittens , that we were working with showed us other recliners they had that were still in my price range that I could take home with me right away. I tried them out and found one that was very comfortable and felt supportive in my troubled back area (lumbar spine). It was about$100.00 over my price range but we were able to make it work. We loaded it up and were on our way home with it. I'm extremely happy with my chair and the experience at Slumberland with Jim. He was very informative, helpful and not pushy at all!!...
