Update: I made the mistake of giving them another chance 2 years later. What a disaster that was.
I called in an order for takeout. After being on hold for 15 minutes I should have known better than to hang up, call back and place my order. Of course the order was wrong, so we drove back so they could fix it.
We caught them charging us $5 to $10 more per menu item, even going as far as hiding the menus with the real prices on them. Instead of making it right, the owner/manager, the same person that made me not go back for 2 years, tried to fight my husband because he caught them hustling us, literally had a young employee holding her back. It amazes me that a place that treats their customers like garbage stays in business in such a small town.
We had been going to the Hyde Park location since they first opened and it was always great. It's hard to believe this is the same business, they should be embarrassed.
Original review from 2023: This used to be my favorite spot, but it's been on a fast decline. I was able to tolerate dining in an establishment with no heat, wobbly tables, disappointing take out (the enchiladas Rojas were a disgrace, sauce was like water mixed with ketchup), and sub par service at times because I like their tacos... but after this last visit I will never go back.
I took my partner on a kid free dinner date, I ordered my usual to be safe because the food can be hit or miss. My partner ordered a wet burrito that was dry, flavorless and not quite what was described on the menu. He took one bite and sent it back due to the poor quality of the food.
They charged me for it anyway! I was floored!! I've never been to a restaurant that charges patrons for food they didn't eat, ever. I have been a regular customer since they opened in Hyde Park and I was really disappointed by this. The lady told me she would charge me a little less but refused to take it off, instead of arguing in a dining room full of people including the town judge, I just cut my losses (and her tip) and left.
This town doesn't have many options for restaurants and they take advantage of that to the fullest, by serving low quality food in a building with no heat. What an awful...
Read moreI ordered their “Supreme Fajitas” (steak, chicken, and shrimp) and they rang it up as something else entirely so they could upcharge me later. When I pointed out the price in their own printed menu (which they claimed didn’t exist), the owner doubled down, made up new “fees,” and then got so aggressive that her own waitress had to hold her back.
Think about that: a restaurant owner screaming at a paying customer over their mistake. The food never even made it to my house because I refused to play along with their bait-and-switch scam. I left the food, demanded a refund, and walked out.
The reviews warning about this place are right. Misleading pricing, dishonest business practices, and a complete lack of professionalism. If you want to pay made-up prices and get yelled at for questioning them, this is your spot. Otherwise, spend your money somewhere that actually respects customers.
I should have known by all the signs on the front door, lol - No pets, No smoking, No vaping, No food, No Drink,...
Read morePlaced an order on Doordash and waited 90 minutes. Called to check on status of the food and was informed that the app hadn’t found any delivery drivers in the area and thus they hadn’t prepared the order. After all the confusion, they said they were cancelling the order because they were closing soon.
A phone call informing me of the situation would’ve been professional and expected, given that I could’ve worked with the business to pick up the food or found an alternative. By the time they told us that they wouldn’t be fulfilling the order, all other local food businesses were closed and there were no other options that night.
After reading multiple previous reviews, it seems like although overall, food is decent, the service has been poor logging back to a year or even 2 years. The owner just replies with some variant of “we will try harder”. Please work on your communication and take accountability for your mistakes.
Reply: why are you on Doordash if you can’t fulfill...
