A Real Flavor Explosion – You HAVE to Try This Place!

Zest Gyro & Mediterranean Grill in Salt Point totally impressed me. I’ve had a lot of Mediterranean food, but this place stands out big time. I ordered the mix grill platter, and everything on it was cooked to perfection — juicy lamb, tender chicken, flavorful kofta, all grilled just right. Every bite had that smoky, seasoned flavor you can only get from real fire-grilling.

The chicken shawarma was amazing too — super tender, well-marinated, and full of flavor. Wrapped in warm pita with garlic sauce… just wow. It reminded me of street food from back home, but even cleaner and fresher.

And the appetizers? So good! The hummus was smooth and rich, the falafel was crispy on the outside and soft inside, and the tabbouleh was super fresh and zesty. You can tell they make everything from scratch. Nothing frozen or reheated here!

The staff were kind, welcoming, and really made the experience special. Fast service, clean place, and huge portions. Whether you’re craving a gyro, shawarma, or just want to try a little bit of everything — this place has it all.

Nice enough service, but the food is just terrible. Second time ordering here (wanting to give them a second try after having a pretty unremarkable first meal shortly after they opened - a very mediocre gyro).

I ordered over the phone and was told "25 mins" for a beef shawarma sandwich and fries... On a Tuesday... at 1:00 PM. Ok...

Hostess/cashier was very pleasant and promptly cashed me out, but that was the only good thing about the experience. The food was really, really bad. I'm usually a very generous reviewer, but there was little to find enjoyable about this meal. The "shawarma" meat was burnt, chewy, and almost ground up like hamburger meat (?) I've never come across this before and have had plenty of shawarma. Super odd, and just gross. The tomatoes were under-ripe and flavorless, the tahini was thin and oily, and the little "shot" of hummus that comes with it was so flavorless I'm convinced it's just pureed chickpeas. The meal began with a puréed lentil soup that was absolutely out of this world—its perfectly balanced flavor set the tone for what was to come. The main course featured chicken skewers paired with fluffy rice, fresh vegetables, and soft pita bread. To end the meal on a sweet note, we enjoyed a creamy rice pudding, a classic done right.
