I really want to like this business because it's so nice to have in a town where there's so few options, but maybe I went on a bad day? It seems as though most people like it, and maybe basic deli sandwiches are the best choice. The following sentence is a copy & paste of another review about the meatball sub, so either it was a day when the cook was out or the person who wrote the review has low expectations: "Nice and hot crispy bread good sauce and the meatballs are juicy and delicious." I ordered a meatball sub w/ eggplant and a side of sweet potato fries. The meatballs & eggplant were about 90% breadcrumbs. The fries were soggy, and sopping in vegetable oil. The meatballs had a thimbleful of sauce and were so thick with bread that it was completely dry and flavourless. The eggplant was about a teaspoonful once the thick, wet breading was removed. They were super nice on the phone & the girl at the window was lovely, so I truly wish I could say that there was something redeeming about this 16.00 meal. I'm not giving up yet though, & will order a breakfast sandwich or regular deli sandwich next time because I'm hoping it was just a bad day or the cook was out. It's awful giving a lacklustre review to anyone because running a food business is hard, but my hope is that the owner might take the heavy use of breadcrumbs & lack of tasteful sauce into consideration. Definitely not expecting a Michelin star deli experience, but people (especially now w/ the inflation situation) feel ripped off if something as basic as a quality sandwich- bears the obviousness of cheap ingredients & too much filler. I completely understand the need to make profit by using as much filler as possible, but had I eaten the content of breading in the meatballs & eggplant I may as well have just eaten a loaf of bread. As much as Stewart's is just a convenience store, their meatball subs at least have a sauce w/ flavour & the meatballs aren't dry &...
Read moreWell I would like to leave a great review but last night I order two cheese burgers, a buffalo chicken wrap a order of onion rings and two slice of pizza. For starters I was greeted by a rude older lady who ask me to go to the other window which I did no biggie but she was rude enough and gentlemen said please and thank you.Got my food got home opened the food to find the burger rolls were hard rolls that were beyond hard when my husband bit the burger the roll split into pieces.I called Orders to go to ask if they had a softer roll and from there the rude older lady told me they have no softer rolls or buns and if I want they could put it on bread ...a burger today return to be put on bread ...doesn't sound like it will be good so I said no thank you.The wrap I didn't complain about but was wet liquidly sloppy and had hard chicken the wrap was rubbery like it was microwaved. The onion rings were soggy with oil. This was the third time I went and will be the last. The whole meal had to be thrown out.If the rude older lady was polite I wouldn't have left a review at all but to get uneatable food and to deal with a rude person 2x is not worth...
Read moreI got an egg on a hard roll and a small coffee. On the large sign out from it advertises that for $3.25 I was charged $7.29 When I asked why I was told that typically they only sell it to you at the advertised price if you bother to mention it. It is not legal to have an advertised price and sell at a higher price. This is extremely slimy business practice and a disgusting way to try to rip people off for a few dollars where they believe they can get away with it. I also say this as a manager of a restaurant myself and I live locally. It's really embarrassing and disappointing to have someplace so close to home when we have so few businesses treat people in their own community like this. In addition to their poor business practices, they also charge an additional 4% on credit cards...
