Avocados Mexican Grill Rome — Restaurant in Town of Rome

Been here 3 times and this is my review from all 3. Chips always seem a little stale. Would be nice if taco Tuesday tacos were $2 like La taqueria in rapids. Steak taco was pretty good when I first had one but seemed a little small. My 2nd visit I had a steak quesadilla $8.50 and it was pretty much just a steak taco. Had to try the quessabirria or however you say it which was $15.99. Basically 3 tacos with a small side of beef juice for $15.99 😂 no rice or beans included. The rice has zero flavor. Fried ice cream has corn flakes in it which don’t take long to become soggy. Weird combination in my eyes. That must be what is supposed to give the fried texture cuz it’s not actually fried. This was just my experience and I am not saying that you will have the same experience. The lady that took my order over the phone did an amazing job with understanding my English and repeating my order to me. Very nice people and a very nice place to enjoy higher priced lower portioned food. Today’s order was $72 plus a $5 cash tip.

*Update 2-29 so looking over my credit card transactions all of a sudden I notice I was charged $75 when my reciept said $72 when I signed it. I gave the lady a $5 cash tip. So after my little investigation I wrote down my order all over again and priced it out on the website menu which came to $72.99 with 5.5% tax included. So I called and placed the same (investigation) order with the lady and was now told $67.73 after being told there was a to go fee of .50 per plate so I assume that is included in the $67.73. Either way I signed my cc receipt for $72 and my cc statement is saying $75 so I am under the impression someone added $3 tip to my cc receipt After I gave a $5 cash tip. I am officially done with this place and will be following up with management to go over the details of my order and to see if they have record of my transaction because of course I can’t find my copy of the receipt. Lesson learned, hang on to your receipts in case of situations like this. I hate to complain but the food is nothing special at all and I would be willing to bet that this place won’t be at this location for...

Im rewriting my original negative review. I actually eat here often now. Once a week. Originally I was not impressed at open!! however I must say I eat here often now and the food is delicious. I've had everything from enchiladas, burritos, tacos and my fav fajitas Maybe it was just a fluke when they first opened but we find the food absolutely delicious now. we do also order it closer to the evening at close time so maybe that makes a difference when they’re not so busy.. 10 out of 10 you changed my mind and review!!! Thanks staff at avocados lolol. We are local off apache on Camelot. And I recently been less than impressed with are local bar spots!! You guys definitely saved the day the last year for dinner w a new baby at home!!! Even through my pregnancy with nothing...

Seriously wondering how the people posting good reviews had such luck?

The good: Food was ok. Our server was a nice guy. Dining area and bathrooms seemed to be clean.

The bad:

Stale, cold chips that smell like old oil. Hot food was ok but nothing to brag about. We are local and would definitely recommend hoozels, the lure, lake sherwood before ever coming here again. We ordered out a few weeks ago, wasn't good at all. Tried again to dine in and even more disappointed. We also asked for a different table as there was only one other group of 4 in there besides us. They told us no and were sat directly next to the other only group there. This was our experience and maybe yours...
