I ordered an 8 cut pepperoni pizza, chicken parm sub and American mix. Going off of their website and menu that was recently given (the same one on the counter by the register) I was figuring for about $45 total. When I went to pick up the food I was charged $54!!
I asked the cashier why it was so expensive and all I was told was that the prices on the website and the menus next to the register were old and the prices were off by a few dollars.
When I got home to eat, the chicken parm sub was on a small burnt roll. The sub itself was just a little bigger than my wife’s iPhone max. All I could taste was burnt bread and after a burnt flake got stuck in my throat I ended up eating the sub without the roll.
The American sub my wife said was really good but the bread was a little dry.
The pizza I tried and thought it was middle of the road. I will say it wasn’t overly greasy which was a pleasant surprise and it was thinner then I thought it would be looking at it.
Thoughts:
I felt deceived, ordered food and the price was not even close to what was being advertised on the website and on their menu by almost $10 more. I should not have incurred the cost for their lack of updated advertising and marketing. I wasn’t even told on the phone that the prices would be different. I should have asked what the total was when it wasn’t given to me and that is on me.
For the price I paid I would have gone somewhere else like Rosa Villa or even Broadway Joes (better food all the way around and for less) and paid far less. I went to Poppy because the Facebook reviews seemed good. At $54 we could have gone and sat down for dinner. Their prices and the way they are operating with cost is appalling.
American sub: over priced at $14/15 and change.
Chicken parm sub: the roll was a Burt mess and changed the entire dynamic of the meal, also over priced for the size was $13/14.
Pizza: not bad, middle of the road but wayyyy over priced at $20.50/$21 for a pie. Lucia’s, Broadway Joes, Rosa Villas all much cheaper and overall better options for the area.
I don’t think I’ll be returning for multiple reasons but mainly cost and being bait and switched. Disappointing experience, hopefully this review will inspire them...

Read moreDisclaimer, the new owner and I are friends. I loved his food at his previous endeavor, his rolls are heavenly.
I wanted to try out the new place but I live out of town. I came into the area to go to a party. I ordered some food from Poppy’s for the party . I brought baked ziti, buffalo wings and a tray of garlic knots.
When I showed up at the party, I dropped the food but needed to move the car down the street. Saying hello to people as I made my way to the food table. People kept walking up and complementing the food I brought, I better get a plate!
By the time I got to the table, I there were only 2 wings, a little baked ziti and some of the huge garlic knots left. I was glad to get it. Wings were terrific. The knots had some garlic butter. There was extra sauce provided for the pasta. We got some additional HOT sauce for the wings on the side which people poured on some of the other food that was there since it was so good.
I wanted to take some pictures of the food, the only thing that I could do was take pictures of mostly empty containers.
Let me say it again, short time between drop off and all food was gone....
