Brisket - 4.1/5 A good brisket flavor. Their best meat we tried. Needed way more time slow cooking. It’s a NY brisket so they sliced it. BBQ brisket should fall apart with a fork or cornbread. This one didn’t but the flavor was good. Pulled pork -1/5 Decent flavor but dry and not really pulled. somewhat stiff. Needed lower and slower cooking. And more sauce! Please put sauce on the tables. Corn bread - 4.8/5 Very good. Need a harder bottom - definitely not baked in a cast iron skillet despite what the restaurant decor may imply. Cole slaw - 5/5 Incredible. Their shining star. Very creamy- not vinegar hardly any?? Garlic flavor is very strong but great. Peppery but not over seasoned. Great job. Beer - 5/5 The server was great and poured my beer last before bringing over our drinks
Ribs - original 3.6/5 My generous rating. The flavor is good. They were tender but not falling off the bone. Not incredibly thick crust nor a thick cut. Ribs - chipotle - 2.8/5 Not a great flavor. Wasn’t present mostly and when it was, it was not particularly impressive. Fries - 5/5 Standard fries but done just right. Good job. Beans - 4.1/5 Travelers beans have meat in them FYI and these were very yummy but basically a side of chili. Very filling.
Service - 10/10 Prompt and polite service. The server greeted us within seconds of stepping into the restaurant and apologized that it would be a minute before they could seat us. It was less than a minute to be seated all together. It was just very nice to be greeted so quickly and to have the server acknowledge that they needed to deliver food to a table before they could seat us. Communication goes a long way. The food was very quick to come out and the kitchen did well with multiple tables placing orders simultaneously. I don’t think other patrons waited long for their food. We certainly didn’t wait very long at all.
Atmosphere - .5/5 Personal preference - I do not like the amount of guns in this restaurant. I understand the front of the building is a gun store. The decor is very much gun themed. It was very off putting and was unappetizing. I understand wanting to pull off a theme. But there is hardly a square yard in this restaurant that isn’t decorated with a gun or a bullet. Bathroom - 5/5 Exceptionally clean and spacious single stall bathroom. There was no line because the restaurant is small to begin with. I assume the bathroom is ADA accessible but I don’t know the exact specifications required for ADA. It was very large for a single person bathroom and I imagine if you or a loved one needed an aide in the restroom you could easily use the facilities here while dining.
Price 1/5 As other reviewers noted, the quality for the food is not worth the...

From the moment we stepped foot in Wagon Train BBQ 🏠, we were instantaneously swept away into a world of tantalizing smoky aromas. 🍖 The unmistakable, mouth-watering scent of smokehouse cooking instantly set our taste buds tingling and kicked off what was to become a truly unforgettable dining experience. 😋
The restaurant was positively buzzing with energy, the chatter of satisfied customers mingling with the sizzle and pop of the grill. Despite the lively crowd, there was no delay in seating us. The staff was warm, welcoming, and impressively efficient, making us feel right at home. 🤗
Now, onto the star of the show - the food! We ordered the Pulled Pork Meal and the Burnt Ends Sandwich. The pulled pork was a pure revelation, meltingly tender and oozing with flavor. It was quite clear the meat had been slow-cooked to perfection, allowing for all those delicious juices to soak right in. 🤤
The Burnt Ends Sandwich was equally impressive. The meat was charred to perfection on the outside while remaining juicy and succulent on the inside, striking a perfect balance between sweet and smoky. 🥪 The taste of authentic smokehouse cooking was evident in every bite, a delicious testament to Wagon Train BBQ's commitment to quality and tradition.
As for the pricing, yes, it's a tad higher than your average eatery. But let's be honest, this is not your average BBQ experience. 🌟 With the quality of the food, the unique smokehouse ambiance, and the present economic considerations, we felt every penny spent was absolutely worth it. And believe us, we are all set to pay again for such a top-notch experience. 💵👍
A slight point of improvement could be the variety of BBQ sauces. Although the existing sauce was certainly delectable, having a wider range to choose from could further elevate the dining experience. It would be a great way to cater to diverse taste buds, offering a personalized BBQ experience to each guest. 🍯🌶️🥄
All in all, Wagon Train BBQ is a shining star in the world of BBQ joints. The establishment not only excels in delivering lip-smackingly good BBQ dishes but also in providing a great ambiance and top-tier service. It is undoubtedly a must-visit for anyone seeking a hearty, authentic BBQ experience. 💯👌

Food was fantastic, start to finish. I had the citrus chipotle ribs and pulled pork combo with settler's beans and and extra side of collards. Ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender, delicately smoky, modest heat, earthy and herbal spices and just a hint of orange juice marinade. Pork was sweetly porky, tender and juicy, not fatty, with an earthy-spiced tomato BBQ. Settler's beans were amazing, pintos and red beans in a lightly sweet but very savory tomato-based sauce with chopped beef (brisket?) and a nice modest heat to zest them up. Collards were also deliciously savory, with plenty of chopped garlic, and just a hint of vinegar.
My friend had the KC ribs and chicken, with a side of jalapeno bottlecaps. The ribs were once again fall-off-the-bone tender, and the KC sauce was perfect: tomato-y, nicely spiced, savory and not overly sweet. The chicken was incredibly juicy, right to the center of the breast. Nicely smoked, with a subtly herbal marinade. Bottlecaps were perfect: the thin batter was enough to provide a nice crunch without being greasy, and the jalapenos had a nice kick without seeing your mouth on fire.
Took a slice of homemade carrot cake home for dessert later... Cake was substantial but still airy enough not to be too dense, with just enough walnuts and raisins to provide a nice additional flavor and texture, topped with a sweet cream cheese frosting.
I had two minor complaints (and I do mean minor!) ... the free popcorn snack-etizer was more chewy than crunchy (don't know if it wasn't fresh, or if it was the humidity, or just not great popcorn) and the local beers by Wolf Hollow were just okay. I was psyched at first to see the beer list was written on an Adirondack Brewery chalkboard, which would have been much more welcome. Overall, though... Five stars for food well warranted! We'll...
