I had originally given a one star review because Their website was broken (error 404) and its could not see a menu or anything else before making the drive to the restaurant (I am not a local per se). Update 3/1/25: I have now been to the Trail Break twice with my wife for a "date night," and we both couldn't be more pleased with our dining experience! We have met one of the owners, Jeff; and he was most pleasant for sure. He informed us of that nights specials. My wife and I both had the ribeye special, and we were both very pleased with our meals. Cooked perfectly and well seasoned; certainly not over seasoned, which can sometimes happen to cover up a poorer cut of meat. The staff was also wonderful, very attentive without being distracting or breaking our date night mood. I would advise reservations only because we think the front room (by the bar and fireplace) just has a better vibe and more intimate setting; that is if your a couple. If with family or a larger group than the main dining room is fine. The main dining room can sometimes feel just a bit like a catering hall space, despite the fact that it is decorated appropriately given its cabin-esque feel. I wholeheartedly recommend the Trail Break Inn to individuals, couples, and families! P.S. there is some craft beer gems on the canned / bottled beers list! Some rare and...
Read moreThe reason for the two stars is because of the kitchen. Our waitress was exceptional ... in fact, if she had not told us she was new we would have thought she had been a waitress for years. The bang bang shrimp and the pretzel rolls were delicious. However, the fried calamari was more bread than meat, it was very thin and not cooked well. I had the filet mignon which I ordered medium rare and it came out very rare. They did take it back to cook it more but it still came back rare but this time the outside was almost burnt. The meat itself was tender and did have a good flavor. Another person in our party also had to send back their steak as it was undercooked. The biggest problem was the wait for our food. We arrived at 6pm and our dinner was not served until about 730pm. A few of the serving staff kept apologizing and one even informed us of the difficulties they have been having with the kitchen staff. I feel that many of the items on the menu do not fit the skill levels of the chefs. Overall, the amount of money spent on our meal was not equivalent to our experience. To end on a positive note ... the mixed drink I had (Madori Sour) was one of the best I have ever had. I would recommend the bar and some of the appetizers but would caution people on eating...
Read moreBuyer Beware: I was very excited to try this restaurant during my visit to the area in Mid July 2024. There were many excellent-good reviews online along with an interesting menu. The interior is very nice with plenty of tables and a large bar area. My husband and I reviewed and ordered from the menu. The prices were moderate to high. The appetizer (1 shared) came out right away and it was fine. Then the problems began. After about 25 minutes of nothing, the waitress tells me my menu choice is not available. OK-I order a second choice, which was a fried seafood platter. Again, a long wait to finally receive a broiled seafood platter. My husband's entree came out barely warm...probably because my entree was delayed. There was a poor vibe in the house...lots of people complaining about their food. For a dinner for 2 along with 2 drinks the price was $110. + a tip. I asked the bartender if there was possibly a change in the chef that evening and she said no, the same chef is on duty every night. I advised her of my disappointment in the food and service and she politely apologized. Nothing else. I would never stiff a waitress or refuse to pay my check. However, as it goes, I will certainly never return to this venue and hope, if you go, you have a...
