This place has really taken a downward turn. For years, we have frequent this restaurant during holidays, mother's Day, Father's Day and special events. But over the last few times, both the quality of food and service has greatly diminished. Tonight, however put the nail in coffin for us(We will Never Return!). It first started with the unattentive waitress who seems to have hearing problem because every time we said anything to her, the response was: "I'm sorry, what was that?". Then my father orders a steak medium rare and it came out medium(except for the middle of the steak), not satisfied, my father sent it back to be re-done. The Owner of the restaurant, Lisa, aggressivly approached the table with the steak in a salad bowl, opened up. She abruptly and rudly blurted out, "Look, the steak is pink in the middle, but I'll cook you another Damn Steak"! And stomped off in distress which was not only obvious to us, but the table next to us all turned their heads to see what the comation was. About 20 minutes later, another steak arrives delivered by our disenchanted server and placed at my father's place. My father sliced it down the middle to find the steak was very very rare(I think it was Raw IMHO), I could clearly see the sense of upseting disposition on my father's face when he looked at his steak. It honestly was terrible to see that look on him as if someone walked over and sucker punched him right in the nose. At that point, the charming little angel of a waitress returns and asks how the steak is. My father turned his plate around to show her that steak was obviously raw in the middle. With a nasty smirk on her face, the waitress replied, "Well that's what you ordered and that's what you got"! She knew very well that the order was for medium rare. With disgust, my father ordered another dish which was the veal cutlet. The waitress took the steak away. And another 20 minutes went by. Me and mother had finished dinner and we were waiting for the veal to arrive. The waitress returns with the same steak. She told us the restaurant had run out of the veal and the cook said he re-grilled the steak closer to medium(the reservations were at 5pm, quite early for a restaurant, so why did they run out of food so early in the evening?) With upset and anger in my father's eyes, he took the steak and simply just ate it. Btw, each entree was between $ 30-56 for just the meat/pasta. No sides came with it. The dessert was good, but the bill was over $300 with 20% graditity built in(Our disenchanted waitress gets her tip automatically, isn't that so deserving for her). The steak was Not Comp'd. I emplore every one reading this review: Do Not go to this restaurant as they will certainly ruin your holiday or special event with their horrendous attitude and poorly prepared and...
Read moreUpdate: I went to restaurant for my birthday in January with my family including my 6 month old son. He was well behaved and slept for the most part. The issue came when we needed to change him. The hostess, server and owner (all who were standing up front) directed us to our vehicle outside of the building. In the cold in January. I was just shocked. The owner later told me how his bathroom cannot accommodate the disabled let alone a changing table! I even have that gem in writing. The owner basically blew off my concerns for the “family friendly” place. Needless to say, even if I loved the food here, I will never ever return.
My old review: We had our first Traditions experience this past Saturday evening and it will definitely not be our last. The restaurant is beautiful with rich dark wood throughout the interior. The linens were crisp and white. They had a very nice fire place in the room we were in and a huge wall mirror that was spotless (no fingerprints, dust nothing!)
We were seated right away (we had reservations) and our server came over promptly. I had a glass of wine and my husband had a draft beer. They had a pretty good selection of both. We ordered the special calamari which was out of this world! Definitely better than plain old calamari with marinara sauce. My husband had the potato bacon soup from the specials and loved it.
He had the veal special which was a veal chop butterflied and grilled with mushrooms, fontina cheese, mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. It was cooked perfectly and was delicious! I ordered off the menu and had the chicken caprice. It was perfection. I highly recommend it.
We saved room for dessert and had the s’mores molten cake. It was just a bowl of awesome! The pictures I took don’t give you the whole experience. All I know is that after only a few minutes into the evening, we were thinking about when we could come back!
Service was amazing and I don’t just say that. She was personable and came by at all the right times. Our food was timed perfectly and never rushed. Definitely check...
Read moreOur 3rd time there and, unfortunately our last. Very lovely setting outdoors, BUT... food has declined, and service is not at all good... even more amateurish than before. Server didn't check back after we received appetizers until my husband had finished his, and I was on the last two bites of mine, a tomato salad. It was a $15 caprese with tomatoes so far from ripe, my husband could hear me chewing (crunching) them. This was one of two of the evening's "specials"! Shaking my head still.
My seafood pasta dish was sad... overcooked pasta with mixed seafood in a thick, bland a red sauce. (I'm home now, still waiting to be asked whether my entrée was okay.)
Husband's water glass (plastic Solo cups for water when my entrée costs $38... really?!) wasn't refilled until we were ready to leave.
The very worst thing, however, was that we witnessed no fewer than four servers petting a dog at a nearby table, then reappearing with plates so quickly, there was absolutely no way they'd washed their hands in between. Unprofessional and flat-out disgusting..
I'd suggest the management train waitstaff better to promote some sense of professionalism, but they're no better. One host never should have left her house dressed that way (ill-fitting T-shirt and miniskirt with sneakers) and the other couldn't be bothered to put on long pants. It's a place of business, and they're on the job. Please.
I get it: as we all know too well, prices have gone up, so yes, I expect to pay more. But this experience gave me zero reason ever to want to return. So to sum up, I am happy to pay good money for a well executed dining experience. Regrettably,...
