Fiocha Pizza — Restaurant in Town of Southold

Surprise! I was planning on going to the deli next door, which was closed by the time I arrived. My empty tummy could not get back in my car and continue on my way. I peeked in the window at the pizza place a few doors down and it was open. My belly really wanted a hero for lunch, not pizza. Well, much to our delight, this was not just ordinary pizza, but a masterpiece in its simplicity and flavor. I wanted another, but I will be back next time I'm out East. The owner welcomed me with a smile and the staff seemed to be happy working there, a rare thing to find these days. My tummy forgot all about that hero I was craving. Go taste...

My husband and I stopped here for lunch, after reading positive reviews. We were immediately welcomed by the owner, Nabeel, who chatted amiably with us about the history of Fiocha, and his own personal experiences setting up shop. The food was absolutely delicious! We had the Margherita pie and a Caesar salad, and could have kept going! Nabil explained that he plans to expand the menu in the near future, with more Italian foods typically offered in most pizza restaurants. Pizza isn’t that big but the price tag is. But the pizza dough is excellent. Super charred, soft, pillowy yet crunchy at the same time. It is thin base on which premium ingredients are spread about. The fungi and the Rosa Blanca were flavorful and very delicate but again, kind of small, sparse, and very thin for $26 (including tax). I think you’ll get a bigger pizza out of the box dining in.
