Let me preface this review by saying, this is the FIRST time I've ever left a review about a place. Why? Because I read the 1 star review posted before me and honestly it almost impacted my decision on keeping my reservation.
SO glad I took that with a grain of salt- sounds like they are miserable wherever they go XD. If you're going to complain about paying for a bill every time you go out, just buy a bottle from Walmart and drink in your kitchen! LOL!!
I've been to quite a couple of different wineries post COVID, and Sparkling Pointe not only cares about their guests but also protecting their incredible staff! Visiting this winery is reservation ONLY, which took a total of 1 minute to do on their website. In their website and when booking the reservation it has all of their COVID policies written out CLEARLY. It's super noticeable that these "club members" failed to do their part and read the policies. I read them, and knew EXACTLY what to expect for my visit! Aka- a 75 minute (or 1 hour and 15 minutes) per visit so other guests also have the opportunity of visiting the winery. They also ask you to hold off on taking pictures until you're all done and then can take pictures on the lawn in front of the vines. It's important to remember that there are other humans that work in the vines so I applaud this vineyard for thinking about their safety over a minor inconvenience of not being able to take pictures in the vines in that location!!
Glasses are reasonably price for champagne, and the flights are on the more expensive side. Again, champagne is one thing and regular wine is another. Highly recommend looking at their menu on their website so you don't look like a fool when you try to order a bottle when they only offer glasses or tastings LOLLLLL. Our server was so friendly and happy to interact with all of our questions about the Methode Champs. And Yes, while I do agree the masks can get some getting use to, we were not bother and more than HAPPY to make sure our waitress felt comfortable because we're out and about by choice, when they are there to work!
Wines: Since it was our first time, we all decided that we would try all of their wines by doing the two set of flights they offer. The flagship has slightly sweeter wines (a dry white, a semi-sweet rose, and another white that reminded me of Prosecco!) while the prestige flight showcased their premium high end wines that were all dry! My favorites was the Carnaval Rose and the 2010 Brut Seduction! Took home 2 of each can't wait to open them!!
Food: Heard of the infamous "Cuomo chips"?! Well that also applies to wineries and breweries too! They had an assortment of snacks like mixed nuts, chocolates, chips, caviar, and CHEEEESE YUM!! We went with the cheese board that came with a blueberry jam and honey. Our waitress recommended using them both with the soft cheeses which was spectacular! Ended up taking home a large jar of that Lavender Honey!
We will definitely be back thanks to their FRIENDLY staff, their DELICIOUS champagne, the PICTURESQUE terrance, and most importantly because they CARE about keeping OUR community SAFE and made us feel safe!
What's that saying.... lose a member, win a member?!? Will be looking into becoming members...
Read moreI feel it’s necessary to share the incredibly disappointing experience my friends and I had at Sparkling Pointe on 9/7/24 around 4pm. What started as a relaxing visit to buy a case of champagne turned into an unpleasant and frustrating encounter with the manager, Evan Ducz. Despite the fact that it was a rainy day and the winery wasn’t crowded, Mr. Ducz refused to seat our party of three because one of us had a small service dog. He claimed that service dogs weren’t allowed due to the winery being a “processing facility.” This explanation made no sense, especially since the ADA allows service animals in public spaces, including businesses like wineries. When we tried to explain this and even offered documentation for the service dog, Mr. Ducz’s response was shockingly rude and dismissive. Instead of listening, he questioned us condescendingly about what services the dog provided, and despite our compliance, he made it clear that he was in charge and would not seat us. When we asked for his name or a business card, he refused and told us to step aside, further dismissing our concerns while helping other customers. It wasn’t until we insisted that he reluctantly gave us his name. To make matters worse, as we were leaving, Mr. Ducz followed us OUT the door, continuing to harass us and attempting to justify his behavior, which only made the situation more upsetting. His treatment of us was nothing short of humiliating and completely unprofessional. As someone who has visited wineries on the North Fork for many years, I was shocked by this level of disrespect. I’ve never experienced anything like this, especially from a manager. I hope the owners of Sparkling Pointe address this issue immediately because Mr. Ducz is not only damaging their reputation but also violating ADA laws. This was a terrible experience, and I will be supporting my friend in filing complaints with the ADA and BBB and in seeking...
Read moreSparkling pointe is a great place for celebration! Today is my mom’s 78th birthday. She is a long time wine club member and we came to sparkling pointe to celebrate her. We had a very pleasant dining experience but the service from our waitress was negatively noteworthy. Michelle was insulting to my family from the very beginning. She began by displaying complete disregard for my 17 and 19 year old daughters. When she walked to the table (Our party of 7) she said “so which 5 people will be enjoying themselves today,” implying that my 2 daughters would not be enjoying themselves because they weren’t of age to drink wine. Not only did this make them feel out of place, but she also suggested that without alcohol, you cannot enjoy yourself. Next, she did not even care to give my daughters a menu. So when looking for food or nonalcoholic beverages, they had to use a menu given to one of the adults. This action was very excluding to my girls and neglectful. Furthermore I would like to note the constant attitude and abundance of eye rolls displayed by Michelle. My daughter was the one who ordered the food for the table, which clearly annoyed Michelle. But why? Lastly, she presented our table with the check. Because my mom is a member of the wine club, she got 4 free flights for the table. Michelle was sure to highlight the subtotal, which was the amount prior to taking off the free flights. Implying we should tip on the subtotal amount, which we had planned on doing anyway. Michelle must’ve unfairly assumed and stereotyped my family and our tipping culture. This completely rubbed me the wrong way, and although I was planning on leaving a $50 tip for the holidays, I chose to leave $40 because I felt that’s what was deserved after her performance. I hate to leave a review like this as I do enjoy this company! But, I would like to see improvement in Michelle’s approach to serving...
