The North Fork Shack — Restaurant in Town of Southold

We walked in at 8:30 on a Saturday night and Hannah was behind the counter. Super friendly, welcoming, and accommodating.

Ordered: Fried chicken sandwich Fish tacos Cod croquettes SLT Shallot dusted fries Burger and fries

Reallllllly wanted to love the food. The vibes were great, service was solid but the food fell short of expectations. Everything seemed to be made using fresh ingredients but nothing was salted. The only inkling of savoriness came from the sauces that garnished the food.

Shallot fries left something to be wanted. I guess shallot dusted really means dusted. The shallot powder was caked onto the already soggy fries.

The SLT gave no indication that it was a wrap, we thought we were getting a sandwich.

Fish tacos were great! No complaints.

Cod croquettes and buttermilk fried chicken sandwich were without salt. Good execution but missing a very key ingredient….

It’s a shack and this it needs to be reviewed as such, It’s not a restaurant or a gastropub. It will quickly provide food during times of hunger with friendly service and a smile.

5-star average joint all things considered but could have blown us away if the food...

Waiting nearly 25 minutes for food that was way below par steak sandwich had little flavor and was barely warm, large New England clam chowder was watery, had 4 small pieces of potato and very little shredded pieces of clam however flavor was good, French fries were blah and mixed with old cold fries and uncooked new ones! Wife's fish taco was cold and had 1 piece of fish the size of a pinkie finger, really? The other shrimp taco was also cold, inedible and both were sent back! These items including a can of coke, glass of wine was a pricey $48 and served without table service, picnic style and also asked for salt and pepper and was waiting for the counter girl to open salt and pepper shakers to tap the solidified salt into a small plastic condiment cup and couldn't find the covers and I just said I didn't need covers anyway thanks...really? Not even packets of salt and pepper? We heard a lot about The Shack and the reviews showed some promise, however if they continue to on this path they'll be on the list of...

I ordered at 2 they close at 3( I called for a to go) they rushed my food it was disgusting the first time I went it was amazing but seems like they just didn’t gaf since they were about to close steak was full of fat absolutely disgusting. When I called, they forgot a chicken sandwich because of the service apparently. I get there. I order another chicken sandwich, but turns out my chicken sandwiches are grossly burnt. You can taste the burnt on the fried chicken and burnt grease I feel like I just ate food poison I feel sick to my stomach. I just spent $50 on those three things and some fries and that’s not the issue. Good food you pay good money for but that food was absolutely disgusting. HOW DO YOU COOK 2 CHICKEN SANDWICHES AND A STEAK SANDWHICH AND SAY IT WILL BE READY IN 10 minutes. It was ready in 10 minutes HOW?
