Bark River Lanes — Restaurant in Town of Sullivan

Just walked out!! We came in saw a dining room full of people the hostess (I believe is an owner from one other experience there) said it would be awhile which was fine we asked if we could eat at the bar. She responded hesitantly that we could. We walked up to the bar and as we were sitting down the hostess/(owner) walks up to the bartender less than 3 ft away and says people can eat at the bar but do not taking any orders. At which point my husband and I walked out. Would it have not been appropriate to say we are not serving at the bar right now. As for our other experience, we went in for pizza, it came out burnt they did offer to remake it but we didn't have the time to wait. We ate it anyway it was at this time that the hostess tonight explained to us that her and her husband owned the place. I've heard good things about the food here, couldn't really review that on a burnt pizza and terrible communication to...

This place is great but be warned, it is not a Milwaukee bar. If you do stop in be ready to slow down and relax. The staff is the best and can be very friendly but you must understand that it is a smaller place so you need to wait your turn for service. Once you realize that you can move on to ordering some great food. Number one pick is the burgers which are hand pattied and have a special seasoning that will keep you coming back. Next is steak Wednesday where the chef cooks right at the bar and creates a unique steak / potato combination each week (check the photos). Tuesday through Thursday there with a special burger of the week, and fish on Friday. Just stop in and see it...

I liked the atmosphere and the food. We made reservations for six people and were seated at 4:55 upon arrival. Our guests arrived shortly after. Our food was served promptly and I took my last bite at 5:58. I noted the time, because the hostess arrived just as I laid my fork down, asking if we needed anything and if not to move to the bar. We had a three-year-old child with us. We would have liked to have a minute to talk and make plans to go and possibly visit elsewhere but frankly we were so shocked at the abrupt request we just up and left going our separate ways.
