David’s Ice Cream — Restaurant in Town of Trempealeau

I have been to David's Ice Cream many times, but after our experience on Friday, I will never go back. They were all out of sampling spoons so they informed us right away that we couldn't sample anything. One of the joys of going to an ice cream shop is to try out new flavors. We had 4 people in our group & 1 of us really couldn't decide on a flavor unless they sampled 1 or 2. I asked if we could just get a small sample for him. They still had regular size spoons which I realize are a lot bigger, but asked for just a small taste on one of those spoons. They absolutely refused saying that the owner told them they couldn't do that. I told them that I would be talking to the owner & they gave me a phone number to contact them. I called the number that evening & had to leave a message. I never reveived a call back. It's not the customers fault that they ran out of sampling spoons! They still had spoons & could have accommodated one person from a group of 4. And it's very unprofessional for them to not return...

They are located in the country by a strawberry patch. There's also a boutique you can stop in. And a shop to buy the berries or veggies. I also saw honey. They have a place for the kids to play and a tractor type train the kids can ride on. There's also seating space outside for you to enjoy your ice cream. I got a regular cone. I originally ordered two scoops of ice cream. But after she got the first bunch on the cone, that was the size of a softball, I told her that was enough. And she explained that that was one scoop. I don't know that I would have been able to eat a second scoop on top of that. I paid just a little over $4 and the ice cream...

Ordered "The David" much to the girl's dismay behind the counter(grumbled...very unwelcoming). I received very gummy microwaved cookies with a ridiculous amount of ice cream between them (also different cookies than advertised).. The best part was the melted/sliding hot whip cream...so gross. I threw it in the trash...it was a runny mess. First negative review I've posted, but the product and service were dreadful. The young girl there needs some serious lessons in customer service.
