Tuxedo Sushi — Restaurant in Town of Tuxedo

This is the 2nd time we ate here. The first time was great this time was at the other end of the spectrum. We ordered hot food and sushi. I received my dumplings and my husband didn't get his sushi app until I finished. As he is eating my main course comes out. Then we see our waitress go to the sushi area but goes past us into the back. I finished my meal and still my husband doesn't have his 2 rolls. The waitress comes out from the back and we tell her to cancel our sushi order and the reason why. Another waitress says that sushi takes a while and then tells our waitress to tell the sushi people to stop making the rolls. Service 101 is to serve the table at the same time. Good sushi. Try their spicy sashimi salad. I’ve edited this post from 6 years ago. After coming here at least 10-15 times a year I’ve realized that the service is always spotty, like they’re always training a new employee, and once they get good at their job they leave. Most meals come in time, but on nights with lots of take out people dining there get their meals willy nilly- a table of two might have to wait till a table of four that came in after them get their entree before they get their appetizer. The room itself is cold and has a sparse feel more in a cheap way than a zen way. And the owner tends to be prickly with special requests. I’ve seen him roll his eyes like he’s being bothered. The sushi here is okay, over all. It's fresh and there are a few options as to preparation but the ones we got didn't wow us .. Even the basic rolls like the spicy salmon we ordered was decent but nowhere close to as good as I would expect for the prices this place charges - which is the other thing. This restaurant is pretty pricy. I know that sushi tends to be on the more expensive side and I've definitely paid more per roll on special rolls in other places but I felt like a good a good amount of food and high quality food in those establishments. The same was not true here.
