We could not have been happier with Dean Lane Catering. They came highly recommended to us for our 2019 Watkins Glen wedding by an event coordinator at a local winery. Since we are not local to the finger lakes region ourselves, our first meeting with Michael and Lisa was by phone and they gave us a great first impression.
After going over their food options, we set up a tasting with them at their charming bed and breakfast. We were blown away by the food and they were both so pleasant, warm, and knowledgeable. They were genuinely interested in creating the dining experience we were envisioning and never tried to up-sell us. This was all without compromising quality, utilizing fresh farm-to-table ingredients, and providing a food service that was environmentally conscious. Everything Michael and Lisa prepared was delicious and gave us the fun challenge of too many good options to choose from! Before we even left the tasting, we knew we had found our caterer for our wedding day.
Michael and Lisa were extremely easy to work with, very responsive during the entire wedding planning process, and were complete professionals throughout. Our venue was more rustic without many amenities but they provided a very classy and seamless dinner experience for our guests. We chose to have a BBQ style dinner buffet and we got nothing but glowing reviews from everyone! They went above and beyond and played a major role in making our wedding day truly memorable and everything we hoped it would be.
We would highly recommend them to anyone looking for catering in the finger...
Read moreDean Lane dining is a rare find! It excels in every way a restaurant possibly could: a warm welcome from co-owner Lisa; a beautiful interior with views of lush green lawn and trees; perfectly paced and friendly service; and of course, exquisite food. One of my main criteria when spending money to eat out is that the food is at least equal to — but hopefully better — than food my husband and I cook at home. I also prefer food at restaurants to be different than what we would make at home. Dean Lane met and surpassed these expectations. The prix fixe menu was made up of four courses with two choices per course, one of which was vegetarian. Each course was perfectly seasoned and full of flavor and texture. A great selection of wines as well as an optional wine pairing option to accompany the meal were offered. They also have cocktails and non-alcoholic selections. I honestly can’t think of the last time I’ve had such a...
Read moreUnique experience in a unique setting. Certainly not a place you might stumble across as it is located literally in the 'middle of nowhere'. Adds to the overall 'culinary journey'. Wine pairings offer an opportunity to sample some locally sourced products you might otherwise not be aware of but do add significantly to the bill.Kudos for locally sourcing almost everything on the menu.
Only minor issue was that the steak was served medium well. Would have much preferred medium to medium rare. Still very tender and moist - just a believer that a good steak should be served no more than a medium cook. Swiss chard bedding added an interesting element that we enjoyed.
Strawberry cheesecake was a standout with a lighter density and a fresh bright flavor . Scallops were fantastic and the whipped feta appetizer was...
