Highball Tavern — Restaurant in Town of Wallkill

The food at this restaurant is okay but the service is absolutely terrible. If I could give less than a 1 star rating I would. We had a table of 11 people of which 6 are locals and have been to this establishment before. It took about 30 minutes for anyone to even take our drink order and another 15-20 to get our drinks while the bartender/waitress did shots at the bar with the regulars. When she finally took our food order, she waited about 45 minutes for her relief to come in before our order was put in. At this point we're an hour and a half in and still have one drink and no food. After more than 2 hours, the shot drinking waitress came over and told us that her relief never put in the order for the 5 of us and she was putting a rush on it. After 3 hours at this point, our food started to come out and was brought to a table that just walked in instead of us. Now we are beyond pissed off because our food After 3 hours went to someone else. After being confronted by us about our food, the bartender who never put our order in got belligerent with us and pretty much told us to get out or she was calling the cops. One of the people in our party went in the kitchen to see if they can at least get us a grilled cheese sandwich because the person who ordered it was starving and his response was 'I have all these orders and you're at least another 20-30 minutes'. Needless to say that didn't go over well and we proceeded to leave without any food. This is the worst place we've ever been to and wouldn't recommend to my dog. Bringing up dogs, there was a dog in the bar which has to be a health violation in a drinking and eating establishment. Pathetic people at this place. The place is very clicky. Unwelcoming Discriminating, unfriendly, the food is barely mediocre. The younger bar tender is loud immature and ignorant. The owner is rude and unfriendly. This is a mighty whitey bar. Unsophisticated and backward and if you like the atmosphere of a middleschool lunch room this is the place. To include the rude customers who think they own the place. Never have we experienced such a loathsome environment. So if you're not of the Archie Bunker mentality.... My husband and I will never go there again.. It was egregious atmospherically. Especially if your not white and from the local high school. Plenty of other really nice establishments in the area so this is a big fat ZERO! Not to mention the feeding the dogs while others are eating. A classless dump. ...

Everything about this place is NO! I loved coming here when Nickie the bartender worked there. Food was good and she’d make sure wings were ready for me when I’d get off of work when I’d get off of work late. Now, I don’t get that same service. The drinks & food the past couple times have not been the same. Bring her back, it was always a fun atmosphere. Now I’m always waiting for my drink, can’t seem to get the bartenders attention. Please Help...
