So I have been driving past this place for months wanting to stop in and see what they had to offer. Today was the day I finally made it happen. This is a cozy little spot across the street from the Monhagen Vet in Middletown. It's a small eatery/art gallery which belongs to Joe and his significant other who happens to be the artist showcasing her beautiful art inside. Based on the menu, it appears to be an Italian inspired sandwich shop with delicious paninis made with homemade foccacia bread as well as hero bread that comes from Defillipis. The sandwich I decided on was the prosciutto and fig panini (with mixed greens and provolone) on the homemade foccacia. That bread was really tasty. The whole sandwich itself was too large for me to eat alone in one sitting. I love a salty and sweet sandwich and this checked all my culinary boxes. My only suggestion would be to swap out the mixed greens with some spicy arugula. That would have been a home run. Maybe a drizzle of balsamic glaze too just to cut some of that fig sweetness but otherwise it was really good. I also tried a guava and passionfruit smoothie which was also yummy. There is no added sweetener used so keep that in mind when ordering. I added some agave when I got home and my 2.5 year old and I enjoyed it on this hot day. Passionfruit and guava remind me of my trip to Costa Rica. It's so fresh and delicious. Try this place out. You won't regret it. They also have ice cream and coffee (iced or hot). I also noticed there was a special written up on a board. I believe it was a hero sandwich with 2 meats for $5. I could be wrong. My sandwich was $15 and my smoothie was $5. Maybe a little pricey but definitely enough to feed two people and not be starving afterwards. I'll be back to try something else soon! Thanks Joe and good luck...
Read moreMy husband and I came in here to grab a bite and have some coffee. The guy at the counter was extremely friendly, efficient, and professional. Very fast service and decent prices. The Café was very clean and beautiful. Loved the art pieces on the walls and the ample seating. We ordered coffees, which were very well brewed and delicious. For food, we had the pizza and a donut. Donut was fresh and the pizza wasn't the frozen kind, it was freshly made. The Café offered many other things on their menu and wished we could've tried them all. Overall, we highly recommend this place if your in the area and expect quality food with exceptional service....
Read moreI love the art in the green house gallery. Joe is always welcoming and a good vibe. They have the best tiramisu in town. Joe gets the ginger ale in glass, real ginger ale. I normally get a chicken club sandwich and we could make 3 sandwiches outta 1. He always hooks it up and uses sour dough bread! I enjoy coming to this spot for business meetings and even with my family. They always have events going on in there and he always has a special going on.. I would totally recommend this spot! Plus he’s from the bronx we love supporting our...
