Danny’s — Restaurant in Town of Walton

Well today may have been my last time going here. It's a shame that this place has changed so much since covid. Not sure what's going on with the waitress in the bar section, I know in all the 20 year time I've gone there she's never really been overly friendly or very nice, even though we always have a decent bill and a very good tip. But today she was just extremely unfriendly. We went to have a nice lunch and she made us feel unwelcome and exhibited annoyance when I asked for 2 small things I needed. I saw her laughing and joking with other people, so I don't know what her problem was today. I wasn't expecting a song and a dance routine, but a little smile and friendliness would have been nice.

Either way I refuse to go someplace and spend good money to be treated that way.

I guess we'll just go to the new diner in town. They are always welcoming and nice. Always genuinely glad you are patronizing their establishment and show it. They will treat you like family if you like that and remember your name, it's very nice to be appreciated. And the food at the new...

The Reuben was recommended and it was delicious. I started with the clams, which were OK. I didn't realize I was paying $15.99 for a dozen that were oversteamed, but when I saw the $10.99 crossed out on the menu, I should have asked (or perhaps they should put the new price on the menu). If they were steamed one minute less, they'd probably be perfect, not so dry. The eggplant fries are really good IF you ask to get the marinara sauce on the side, otherwise, you'll miss the good taste of the eggplant and they'll come out soggy from swimming in that sauce. I was in the area visiting a vendor of ours, and they took us here for lunch. The menu is fairly large, but not so large that you struggle to make a decision. Check the chalk board on the way in for the specials. Three of us went with the meatball parm sandwich and a side of fries, which was a special for the day. The sandwich was great. Proportions were right on, and the meatballs tasted great. No issues with the fries either. All three of us agreed that it was a good choice.
