The Best Deli in the Hudson Valley

Roma Deli hides away in a non-descript plaza on Myers Corners Road in Wappingers Falls. You could almost miss it but for the cars parked mostly in the front of Roma. Roma is family. You learn this upon entry where Mom, Dad, Grandma, son, and the dynamic duo daughters of Martina and Dina. The Golia's have it right. Family works. The first time I went in, I got the feeling I was in an Italian household on Christmas Eve, or Thanksgiving, or Easter where the family is busy getting everything just right for the guests. Don't you want that everywhere you go. The feeling that you belong and that all the hustle and bustle is for you. In the deli,Roma not only feels traditional, it just is, and everything is delicious.

The food speaks for itself. I won't get into all of the meals I have had there because the menu is massive and I am slowly going to get through all of it, because everything I have tasted has been not only delicious, but prepared with love, like you are family and you are important.

A few of the highlights however, sandwiches I can't live without, are the Billy Cheesesteak, Meatball Parm, Bella Dina, Fat Albert, classic chicken parm, and the BLT. The Billy Cheesteak is the best I have ever had and I have been to Philadelphia. The meatball part is overflowing with homemade meatball goodness. Grandma Golia is in the back making them. That's how delicious and real this place it. They do not skimp on food here either. The sandwich overflows with meatballs, sauce, and cheese. I ordered a Bit and it turned out to be sub. I couldn't believe it. I still can't believe that I ate all of it either. The Bella Dina is just old school elegance and just the perfect balance of all the ingredients. The Fat Albert will satisfy anyone and leave you happier and definitely a little chubbier too. And by the way NO ONE DOES CHICKEN PARM LIKE ROMA. NO ONE.

Don't take my word for it, get down to the Deli and see for yourself. Just don't eat for a day or two before you get there. You will want to save your appetite. You will need it if you intend to finish one of their massive creations of utter...

Hands down the best sandwich I have ever had! I've changed my name on here so my wife doesn't find out that her sandwiches are 2nd place to this place. She would flat out murder me if she knew I was writing this review. I mean, this thing came out the size of a newborn baby swaddled in a sandwich wrapping. And the price, forget about it! You couldn't buy the ingredients and DIY it cheaper. I mean I've got to wine and dine the warden for at least half a week just to get her to consider making me lunch. 10 years ago this used to be ‘the deli’ now it just keeps getting worse & worse. Food quality has significantly decreased, it seems there’s always a missing item on a sandwhich order & the pricing makes absolutely no sense. I ordered a sandwhich that was $11.50. At checkout the cashier told me $14.06. Not sure how taxes went from 8% to 23%? If you’re going to charge me $14 for a sandwhich the least you could do is actually fry a chicken cutlet instead of microwaving it. Side note- the fact that the staff handles money, food, then money, then food again all without changing their gloves in between...
