Kahvi Coffee House + Cafe — Restaurant in Town of Washington

This is truly an adorable little place. We loved the decor, the design, the reminders of fika throughout. Recognizing that everyone has different coffee preferences, this was not ours. I would consider this more a second wave coffee shop, not third wave which is what we had hoped considering the Scandinavian theme. A true cappuccino is 6-8oz and about 1/3 foam. The milk is the consistency of thick paint when poured and the microfoam separates from the milk and rises to the top as the beverage sits. A good espresso is accented by the creaminess of the milk, showcasing tasting notes of graham cracker, chocolate, or blueberry, etc depending on the espresso used. The drive thru is a little confusing considering the emphasis on fika—a tradition that involves intentional breaks and socializing. It is likely a good business decision however at odds it may be with the ambiance the shop is trying to create. This all being said if you prefer flavored drinks over the nuance of coffee (no shade, it’s all personal preference) then this is a lovely place to go. I have been a frequent customer of Kahvi since they have opened. The atmosphere is amazing and the coffee is great but something has changed drastically with the customer service. The last few months, the workers have been making several mistakes on our orders. I even went in to request new kolaches and was given attitude for bringing up my concern. The last three drive thru visits we had to go back to have them fix their mistakes. I am not one to complain, I have worked in fast food and know how hard it is! Something has changed, and I hope the owner realizes what an amazing establishment they have, but the workers make the atmosphere, and sadly the atmosphere has changed since...

Love this coffee shop! Very clean, organized and has a boutique-like vibe. Love the outdoor seating! Great coffee. Awesome cinnamon rolls and bars! And they have Kolaches! Yum. My only complaint is the egg and sausage bowl. It is a tiny container that is microwaved and there was no sign of egg at all, it was super runny, and had an odd taste. I won’t order it again and I do not recommend it. And the staff is just okay.
