Mac's Drive-In — Restaurant in Town of Waterloo

I'll start with this first when I got here I forgot to put my mask on and I just drank a bottle of Gatorade and I had a cough before this covid-19 started so I had a little bit of a cough before it I figured I'd mention this just in case it's affected how their response was the last time . I was there even though the time before the last time I wore masks . it wasn't so enjoyable the last five - seven times I visited because I ordered onion rings for both fish dinners and never got onion rings I know they heard me because when they asked me if I wanted the onion rings as a substitute for fries or as an add-on and I said add-on . the time before it I got only half the onion rings that I requested but they charged me for the both of onion rings . so I did a little test and I remember what I ordered the last time so I ordered the exact same thing and it come out to the exactly the same amount as it did the last order but I never got the onion rings . I also ordered a small lemonade and shake with the fish . I also ask for a receipt for pretty much all my purchases and the last one they didn't even put onion rings on the receipt even though I requested them . I also made a separate order for one double cheeseburger just to see if I got my change back .they've done this stuff before in the past and I told management and I don't think they...

UPDATE 6/12/25 - Decided everyone needs a second chance so we tried again - BLT, small grisle-filled, dry cheeseburger and fries. Again, no condiments on the burger - apparently you have to add your own ketchup from the packets they toss in the bag. The BLT had crisp bacon, which I love, and it was in a box this time so it stayed together fairly well. Still just two slices of bread - they really need to update that website description so people aren't expecting some triple-decker, restaurant-quality sandwich. The fries were kind of limp. The whole meal just felt like something made by people who hate their job. Sorry, Macs - we gave you a second chance and you failed. 2024 - Got a to-go order - BLT, quarter pound cheeseburger, macaroni salad and a root beer. Salad was ok. Asked for ketchup on the cheeseburger and got a handful of packets. Burger was average, nothing we'd drive by a McDonald's for. My BLT had plenty of bacon but half of it was in the bottom of the bag because the sandwich was only half-* wrapped! The menu says there are 3 slices of bread but there were only two - not sure if that's the way they do it or if it was missing that 3rd piece. I was on my lunch break and had a young guy take my order and instantly started to cook! As I waited his coworker came over and started some small talk while he cleaned the glassware. The cool thing was that as we spoke he seemed interested in what I had to say while still working and directing his other coworkers on what needed to be completed! Seemed to have the respect of everyone there. Then Brandon the one who took my order came back with my order in paid and tipped a few bucks and it seemed to be appreciated. Long story short it was refreshing to see that a bunch of kids not only then maybe 17 running a restaurant and efficiently while still paying attention to the customers! I will be back, not only was I able to get a real solid lunch meal for 20 with tip! Mind you they dont have tip boxes lying around so im not even sure if tipping is a thing here or not nor did they act like they expected one. Last thing I'll mention is that while I was there an older lady (late 70s) came in and called them all by name and they all seemed happy she came to visit! Places like this help build...
