Our waitress Amy was nice until everyone at our table ordered water for a drink (we had been in the sun all day at Water Safari and just wanted to hydrate) after that she came back with the pitcher of water and literally slammed it on the table. Next we ordered about $300 worth of food. She was inattentive, rude and dismissive. Definitely got the feeling that because we were not locals that she didn't find us important to wait on and seemed to actually really not like us at all. We waited over an hour after we ordered for our food to come out but we were super patient and didn't complain once because several of us in our party work in the service industry and try to be understanding. Every steak we ordered (12oz ny strip, prime rib, a couple Delmonico's, and a few kids steak meals) were FULL of hard inedible grizzle and several steaks were wayyy over done and essentially flavorless. The one chicken tender kids meal was SO fishy tasting that my kid couldn't eat it and out of 3 kids meals that we asked for apple sauce with only 1 apple sauce was brought out. My $30 NY strip meal also had substantially less french fries in it then my daughter's kids meal did. Fast forward to dessert and Amy came back and slammed the super small portion of apple crisp on the table in front of my friend without saying a word and then I asked for my check and boxes because we were so ready to leave where we were clearly unwanted. She told me she was busy and that she would get around to it when she had time. We sent the kids to the car and pulled Amy aside and asked if we had done something to upset her before we left and she said she was just flustered. Then she walked over to another waitress and started talking about us again and didn't seem to care that we were within ear shot and could clearly hear her. Hands down worst service we have ever received and felt totally disrespected. We will never go back for overpriced inedible excuse of food as we travel to that area more often then our waitress seemed to realize. The hostess was the best part of the experience and was the only hospitable part of our experience. For how expensive they are (and I don't mind spending it on good food and service) they need to do better and retrain wait...
Read moreOur family went to enchanted forest for the day and decided we wanted a nice dine in meal. My boyfriend called and was able to book a reservation. Upon arrival the staff appeared to be attentive and the waitress (Amy) was kind. Once (almost) the entire party of 9 ordered water the entire demeanor of our waitress changed. She was rude when we asked for more water, and slammed down plates and rarely came to check on us. The food was taking a while but we all understand staffing shortages and we were hopeful the meal would be good. All the kids meals were incorrect meaning some kids got double fries and others got applesauce (each child’s meal was reversed) the 3 adults that ordered steak all agreed it was lacking flavor, one who ordered prime rib could only eat about 25% of it due to the large amount of fat on it. No one was extremely impressed with any part of the meal except the kids enjoyed the rolls. My boyfriend and daughter ordered desert and the waitress Amy slammed that down as well (at that point my patience was thin and I took the children to the car). When giving our checks she then informed us 20% gratuities were automatically added to her our checks. I understand completely company policy however this could have been mentioned prior (now it felt targeted). We all paid for the entire meal including gratuity and did not talk to the manager in regards to her behavior, the bland food etc. my boyfriend however did speak to Amy and asked why she appeared so frustrated. Her response was that she was busy and upset our food took so long to come out (she did not once during our meal apologize for our wait or even check on us during the course of our wait) I personally feel that due to our party ordering water instead of drinks she judged us instead of considering we spent our day at a water park with children and needed to hydrate before our drive. The unfortunate part is my boyfriend always tips well over 20% as he is a tip/commission based worker. So he paid the 20% and moved on. Also I understand this is a tourist town but we frequent the area each summer and our business/recommendation is now lost. I rarely write poor reviews but this particular experience was one of the worst I have...
Read moreMy fiancé and I were in the area on a weekend getaway. He wanted a nice steak and said he wanted to try the steakhouse. The parking lot was packed, there were a bunch of people waiting and we were told it would be about a 30-45 minute wait. No problem. Once we were seated things seemed to progress as they should. Our drinks came out, 2 rolls and our salads. The rolls seemed to be ciabatta bread. I happen to love cibatta bread - for sandwiches, not to munch on. That’s ok though. Salads were a typical restaurant small salad - nothing to write home about. Our table was cleared and we waited for our meals: I chose the prime rib. My fiancé got the filet with shrimp scampi. As more and more time passed we wondered what the issue was. It’s fine, we just waited. Our server stopped at the table and informed us that our tables ticket was lost and our meals would be done as quickly as possible. We continued to wait. We sat at our table for 1 HOUR AND 15 MINUTES before our food was set in front of us. As a courtesy, she offered us a half off discount. My fiancé requested to speak to a manager to see if (1) he knew what even happened and (2) could he do better with the compensation. At that time he came over and advised he had no idea what happened with the ticket but would be happy to “take care of us.” I asked if he would be able to do better than half off. He explained that he “is in the business to make money, not give away free food.” I was appalled. Obviously making a profit is a priority; HOWEVER, sometimes you need to take a loss - especially in the interest of RETAINING patrons. He went on about how the process of a meal coming out goes. I’m 40 years old, I’ve been to restaurants - I know the drill. “Things are slower here and the business is seasonal.” Uh, have you been to Walt’s diner? Because I’ve never seen waitresses hustle that fast! How he handled the situation was very disappointing. The food itself? EXCELLENT!!! Was it worth an almost 2 hour wait?...
