Classic's Restaurant & Lounge — Restaurant in Town of Wescott

I gave it a 4 because the food was good. Service was not so great. We, myself and my wife, arrived at about 6:20. The bar area was crowded and the bartender told us it would be 20-30 minutes for a table. Being close to the bar, one waitress was complaining that she had too many tables. Appeared to have 4 bartenders, 2 waitress and one bus girl. The waitress were also serving the food in the bar area. Saw about 3 tables of 2 get served. Had 2 drinks while we waited. About 50 minutes later we finally were taken to a table in the dining room, which cannot be seen from the front. When we got to the dining room only 6 tables were occupied, only one was more than 2. The bus girl brought us water after about 10 minutes, the waitress came about 25 minutes after that. Apologized for the wait. Being Friday, I ordered the fish combo, perch, cod and shrimp off the Friday menu $17. I even pointed to it. My wife ordered off the Seafood menu, Shrimp (5) and 1/2 ribs. Cost $29. The salad, bread and soup arrived relatively quickly which was appreciated as by this time we had been waiting about an hour and a half. The waitress arrived with our meals and again apologized, said something about a mixup on who was waiting on our table. She gave us our meals and quickly left. I soon realized that I did not receive the meal that I ordered. I received the shrimp and scallop combo. 3 shrimp and 2 scallops. I didn't complain because I was very hungry and didn't want to wait for the correct dinner. Besides the waitress was nowhere in sight. My wife said I should complain but I didn't. It came on a smaller plate with red potatoes and summer squash. It was very good, but not all that filling. My wife's dinner was perfect. It came on a large plate with the same potatoes and squash, but more of them. I try to pace myself when I eat so that I don't finish ahead of my dining companions, but it doesn't take very long to eat 3 shrimp, 2 scallops 4 slices of summer squash, and 3 forks of potatoes. My wife took pity on me and gave me a couple of her ribs because she new I was still hungry. I don't know how many shrimp/perch/cod I should have received, but it certainly had to be more than what I received. The waitress came with the bill and told us we could pay her or at the bar. We wanted to get going, it was about 9.pm, so we paid at the bar. At the bar I picked up a menu and looked for the other combo. The shrimp/scallop combo was $21 on the seafood menu. This is what was on the bill. The hostess/bartender asked how dinner was and I told her it was very good, which it was, but not what I ordered. She didn't seem at all surprised, took the bill and my charge card and returned with a gift certificate for a future visit $10. I appreciate the gesture, but I paid $5 more for a meal that was inferior. She said that someone called in and they were short staffed. Left at about 8:40. I get that not all days are perfect, but today was very slow and dinner was incorrect and disappointing. Again, 4...

Black table cloth was full of hair & dirty, the room was freezing. The first 3 choices we asked for were unavailable, the steak was so tough you could not cut it, the hot bacon dressing on the salad had absolutely no bacon, the soup tasted like it was from a can, the potatoes were overbaked and it was hard to even eat them. We were looking forward to trying this place because we had heard they were a good place to go. We have traveled all over the state trying out Supper Clubs. This has become our hobby since we retired and we were very much disappointed in this one. Most Supper Clubs we have greatly enjoyed but this one I hate to say was our least favorite. We went in hopeful and came out not enjoying it at all. We should have known because when we stepped in the door the bar is what we saw with everyone eating at the bar & at the tables located near the bar. We were told to tell the hostess we were there when we arrived since we made reservations but did not find one so we caught a server who did help us. We liked the records on the wall but it was frustrating that we were told that the first 3 choices we wanted we couldn’t have for one reason or another and so we chose something but the food was not made at all like it was described. My husband is a good chef & he was very disappointed. The place could have used his services Saturday night. The rolls were so hard you couldn't even cut them. The waitress admitted they were over done. The second batch was the same. The third batch was edible but still hard. 20 min.later the soup came, more salt than soup. 20 min.later the salad came swimming in dressing, more than salad. 20 min later the entree came. The shrimp was covered in pepper and unedible. My husband's steak was 1/2". He couldn't cut it or chew it. We told them we shouldn't have to pay for the unedible terrible food, but they insisted we had to or they would call the police on us. They said we ordered it. We ordered food expecting it to be edible. We didn't eat any of it and were not only charged full price but they added extra for some excuse. We were not given any discount.
