Franco's Pizza Westmoreland — Restaurant in Town of Westmoreland

Our experience here was less than desirable. The food was pretty good, but I still would not return.

We stopped in for some take out dinner in the middle of a 10 hour drive. We were not told of the wait or we would have gone elsewhere. Anytime you walk into a pizza and pasta place, you expect to be out of there in 25 minutes.. Give or take. It took 58 minutes to get 2 subs, 1 pasta and garlic knots. Fifty eight minutes. From the time stamped on my receipt to the time I received the order. And that was after it had already taken the person 20 minutes to take my order, which should have been my first red flag. But we were hungry and had been driving for 6 hours straight and still had just over 4 hours to go.

The cashier, was definitely new, and untrained, but there wasn't anyone to easily assist her. She had to run back to the kitchen to ask questions.. And she had 2 questions per item. It was ridiculous.

The only thing this place had going for it was the size of the food for the cost. The flavours were there, but not exceptional or anything.

The waiting/seating area was not clean, the tables weren't wiped down, the floors were dirty.. But I hadn't noticed that until into my 58...

This was the second attempt at trying Franco's in Westmoreland. Both times weren't so great. The first time was on July 19, 2024 if I'm not mistaken was a Friday because we were celebrating my husband's birthday. We ordered an upside-down sausage and mushroom, reg. Half Pepperoni Half Ham and 40 wings and an order of mozzarella sticks. That time did not receive the upside-down when we ordered and got a regular instead. We figured it was a Friday so they were busy and mistakes happen. Tonight when we ordered we figured it being a Monday wouldn't be so bad, we did the Sausage Upside down, a Reg Pepperoni, what was supposed to be a Reg. Ham with pineapple and banana peppers and 40 wings. The wings had no sauce on them and the Ham pizza was was missing the most important ingredient, HAM! Really no point in the pineapple or banana peppers without the ham. If there was an option to leave 0 stars I most definitely would. I personally would not order from this...

Ordered small pepperoni on Thursday night.. they stayed open late, I was impressed and told them it's OK, I'll wait and order it tomorrow. They insisted..I picked it up and they were cleaning up getting ready to close. Got it home and the entire top of the pizza was just about burned. We've gotten pizza there before and it was never that way. So I called on Friday to let them know what happened the night before. Again, very friendly and apologetic. Offered a free pizza I said OK, I'll come by and pick it up for the grandkids. Got it home and, again, it was entirely burned on top. They weren't busy. I think they've just changed. They're trying to sell their business. I don't want that kind of pizza so we'll find another one similar in our area or the Rome area... just not crunchy...
