We visited this store at the end of July, and it seems there is a recurring theme. There was a young gentleman working with a young lady behind the counter. We were not welcomed but left to wander around the store. We were not asked if we wanted to try any samples. When we came around to the front of the store, we had already picked up several bottles of wine and other items. We walked right past the tasting bar area where the guy had been offering samples to others who came in after us and had NOTHING in their hands and he STILL didn't offer us anything. He was ignoring us completely. My wife stood there until he had no choice but to make eye contact, but SHE had to ask "so...would we be able to try a sample?" Talk about rude and unwelcoming. Really makes me want to spend my money there. Then we get charged $1 for using our VISA card. HELLO! Visa etc. is a fact of life. Factor it into your cost of doing business and then offer a cash pay discount, OR GET OUT OF BUSINESS. I've checked with my card company and it appears that this retailer doing this IS IN VIOLATION of their agreement. To top it off, the date on their register (not credit card) receipt was a month off. Needless to say, we will NEVER be going back here. I'd rather pay more and have good service than waste my money on a retailer like this that apparently doesn't give a damn about...
Read moreOne positive thing, we were able to taste as many wines as we liked. The male serving the taste tests was rude, uninformative, and seemed bored with his job. He rushed us through the tasting and offered no information about the complexities of the samples, and he had worked at this store for over 5 years. Any females of a certain age are known to have deep pockets and perhaps we could have spent double or triple the amount easily, had the atmosphere been warm, friendly, and entertaining. One of our group was choking on a sample and was told by this clerk, "Do you want to drink wine or water. We do not serve water." She had to run to the car to get a drink of water so she could breathe. Anyone having enjoyed tasting wines knows a drink of water between each wine gives the taste buds an opportunity to clear the palate. One member of our group uses a cane for mobility requested to sit for a moment in a chair. The clerk stated there no chairs in the store. There were 2 chairs, one behind him and one behind the cash register. The bathrooms were not clean. Due to the clerks demeanor, this will be our first...
Read moreEDIT: Reduced to one star because even the shelfer bottles are overpriced now. This store is not worth stopping into unless the comedy club is closed and you want a laugh.
Good selection - but that's mostly because nobody will pay the crazy prices on whiskey. Very cool looking place to have a look around but you'll have far better luck getting many of the bottles cheaper elsewhere, even the hard-to-get stuff. At least a thousand stores across 24 states and the prices here are unmatched in their upcharging. Out to try some samples or buy a quick shelfer bottle? Check it out. Want good whiskey at a remotely fair price? Might want to look elsewhere.
Staff was super pleasant and store was super clean - owner,...
