Mariam — Restaurant in Town of Whitestown

What can I say? The tastiest middle eastern cuisine to be found! We were fortunate to have discovered this jewel of a family run restaurant while on our bike tour of the Erie Canal, just a short jaunt from Lock 20 where we had set up camp. Upon entering the establishment, I immediately marveled at the vintage diner that had been meticulously maintained. It was sparkling clean, the chrome polished and shining. As I spied into the kitchen, I knew I was going to enjoy something amazing. I happily watched the chef prepare all the fresh ingredients. Soon after ordering, our lovely hostess Maria set before us the tenderest, tastiest lamb and beef kabobs nestled on a delicate rice pilaf with a tangy yogurt sauce on the side. Maria’s lovely mother treated us to a plate of her authentic grape leaves deliciously stuffed with savory meat and rice and drizzled with lemon juice! For desert, we enjoyed hot Turkish coffee and home made Baklava. What an amazing dinner to relax over after a long day on the trail. I left feeling absolutely satisfied and so well taken care of like I had eaten at the table of family. A great dining...

Being Lebanese, brought up eating Lebanese, and being a foodie allows me to confidently give a 5 star rating! The atmosphere is an actual diner complete with counter, bar stools and tables, stainless steel walls and two very old speakers at either end, everything very clean and orderly. The staff was a woman and gentleman who were so nice but spoke broken English, so be patient! The food is excellent! It's fresh, traditionally prepared, perfectly cooked and delicious! The chicken fresh and done to perfection, grape leaves my grandmother couldn't do better, salads crisp and fresh. You get so much food. We will def. be back! I would only suggest background music as the air seems...

Went here couple weeks ago for breakfast without realizing it was a new restaurant, I don't even think they were open yet but they offered to cook breakfast for us! We politely declined but offered to come back to try their lunch menu.

Stopped in to place a Togo order today and while waiting for my order was offered drink and hummus on the house. Very nice family clean restaurant.

I ordered the beef and lamb sandwich with fries. Was excellent. Sandwich was large pic only shows half. Will be back with the family Maybe try a fish fry.
