I visited the recently re-opened, under new management and name, ROSIE'S Oriskany Diner. Bottom line, there is a new GO TO Breakfast place in the area. So many things on the menu that I wanted to try, but so little room in my stomach because the portions are so large. It was a toss up between the corned beef hash omelet or the biscuits and sausage gravy. Oh, it's homemade corned beef hash?!? OK, decision made! It was a good choice! The HOMEMADE hash was excellent. Then you're telling me you going to wrap it up in a 3 egg omelet with some cheese! Yes, please. Very few places make homemade hash, most rely on that slop from a can. Not Rosie's. Next time I'll get the biscuits with sausage gravy AND a side of hash. My wife got the French toast, and Rosie's does something out of the ordinary there as well... they use Challah bread. If you aren't familiar with Challah bread, just know that it makes the BEST French toast, and yup Rosie's French toast was excellent. Not only were the main dishes 5-star worthy the accompanying sides are noteworthy as well. Homemade Italian bread toast with the proper amount of butter. You could taste the freshness. Home fries were crispy and hot. You can't ask for anything more, oh right good service. In today's environment getting fast, friendly, and reliable service is getting harder to find at some places (I know not the mgmts fault and we're all doing the best we can). I'm not saying I fault some places for this, but this stood out for us at Rosie's. We went in on a Sunday morning around 8:45, we were seated without a wait and we were cashed out and back in the car by 9:30. Fast, friendly and affordable, yup just like Arnold said...

I came 3 and a half hours to take my mother out for the weekend. She has a rare but very devastating decease called Huntingtons it not only takes away her motor skills leaving her unable to do anything for herself but it also slowly destroys her brain nervous system and memory. She wasn't given long left to be with me and even that time her knowledge of everything she loves will be taken. The family there at Rosie's were very kind to us my mother loved the old school home fries and enjoyed herself so much โค but it did not end there the who We assumed to be the owner not only wouldn't allow us to pay for our bill he opened up the door on our way out and wished us a good day and a smile as We wheeled her out of the dinner. Thank you so much for everything such kindness is a rarity and you gave us the best possible breakfast...
ย ย ย Read moreWe travel all over New York state with our business. We were in the area and saw the 4.6 rating on this restaurant. Decided to give it a try. First thing we noticed was dirty silverware. We ordered coffee and the decaf was old. Waitress came back after 15 minutes with food not cooked the way we requested it. wife sent her Burger back because it was not cooked enough. When my wife's Burger was returned to the kitchen I looked out and saw that the cook was not wearing any gloves while he was handling the food. When the burger was returned to my wife it tasted like rubber, like it it been microwaved. And it also was soaked in Greece. It was almost inedible. The french fries tasted like they had been cooked an old oil drenched in salt, and it hadn't been changed in a while. The waitress did come over to see if we were okay and at that point we had given up and decided to pay our bill and leave. We will never return to this...
