Pollo Campero Trenton — Restaurant in Trenton

Ordered today (12/10) via uber eats at 4pm. FYI, I have ordered Uber eats from this location before and had no issues. An hour later Uber drivers kept cancelling the pick up whenever they got to the restaurant and it kept reassigning new drivers so I didn’t know if they were still preparing order as the status was “wrapping up”. Finally after like 4 drivers cancelled with no explanation I messaged the next Uber driver to let me know what the issue is with the restaurant and he got there he told me the restaurant closed early. The restaurant should have not been able to accept my order in the first place or should update their store hours. I had family over to celebrate a birthday and they had to leave because it was already 6pm so we didn’t even have the chance to order from somewhere else. So just beware ordering from here via Uber eats.

Update 12/30: I’m changing my review from 2 stars to 4 stars. Customer service reached out to me and they were very apologetic about what happened and said they were going to reach out to Trenton location to make sure this issue won’t happen again in the future. Since then I have ordered from them twice and my family finally got to try the chicken and they really love it as it’s rare to find very good spanish style fried chicken around...

I cannot praise you guys enough. I live about an hour away from the Trenton location and people look at me like I’m crazy when I tell them I drive an hour away for fried chicken. But I always tell them that if they tried it, they would understand. I was never really a fried chicken person, but the flavor of Campero change that. I am a mac & cheese lover, and you guys have one of the best mac & cheese. My husband and I visit often and the staff is always friendly in the service is usually pretty quick. I would like to point out that the absolute best part of my visit every time is the security guard who welcomes us in each time. This man is always friendly, always attentive to everything that’s going on, and always has a smile on his face. I always make sure to say goodbye to him and we always look forward to seeing him when we come back. We love Campero very much, my only request is that you bring the Crema that they serve in the Guatemala locations. My husband is working, but we have been craving Campero so I made the drive out tonight and I had a lot of food to take with me and the security guard was nice enough to carry some bags out with me so I didn’t have to take multiple trips by myself. When I first got introduced to El Pollo Campero in Maryland, so many years ago, I couldn't stop referring everyone I knew. I was literally wait in line wrapped around the restaurant to place my order on the regular. Many years later, I found out there was a location about 25min away from me in NJ and couldn't wait to savor the flavor that I once knew. Yesterday, I drove out of my way to order just enough food to allow a few my co-workers to try. My expectations and the food was a tremendous disappointment and let down. The chicken was dry and hard, the coleslaw tasted rancid, some of the plantains didn't taste ripe or sweet, the empanadas had little filling. I wasted money and time on a location that didn't put any effort into their food quality or satisfying their customers. After all the bragging about the quality and flavor to my co-workers, I was left embarrassed and still hungry. I will NOT be referring anyone ever again. I hope...
