Rancho Viejo — Restaurant in Trinity

I am highly disappointed! I understand you may be busy on certain nights but that just means you need to hire more staff and Staff that speaks English, I ordered a strawberry margarita and I got something with Tajin (I absolutely despise this) I asked bar tender 3 times if it was a strawberry margarita and he said yes, no it was not a strawberry margarita it was something with a little red and mostly club soda I believe) . Also we have a group of over 29 people that always goes there and tips very well, We sat there for at least 45 minutes and no one came to serve us! We had to ask numerous waiters and they all said they were not our waiters. A lady at our table went up to the front and asked to speak to manager and she said he was busy! I never once seen a manager and no one ever came to apologize for the horrible service we have been going through here. Everyone was really upset! This is the 2nd time I witnessed these frequent patrons getting treated horribly! I really honestly think they need new management and new staff, most of the waitresses and waiters are rude and no customer service skills. Drinks were ordered and they still didn’t all come out, we had to keep reminding them that its been almost an hour and some people haven’t received their orders! It was a hot mess there. People ordered the queso, it was cold and had so much water in in and nothing else just cheese and water it was thinner than soup and they didn’t even bring out chips with the queso! Y’all need to get it together or you are going to lose half of trinity because of the horrible service we have even receiving! We all got their at 6 and didn’t get the Steaks served until over a...

Today, I walked into the restaurant at 1:55 pm. Lunch specials end at 2pm. The sign when you walk in says to "wait to be seated." There were ONLY 2 customers, they were not busy. I stood there as long as I could, being disabled, I finally had to sit on the bench. During this time while waiting, the waiter saw me and passed by 3 times and the girl that clears the tables pass me twice. I tried standing up again in hopes to be seated and not ignored. At 2:12 pm, the waiter finally ask if I need something. I state, "I need to be seated", he casually says, "you can sit anywhere." I sat down and asked about the lunch specials, the waiter states, "They end at 2 pm. I said, I was here waiting to be seated (17 min). He said no, I can not get the lunch special. So.... I ordered and got my food in 12 minutes yet they did not acknowledge me for 17 minutes which caused me to exceed the lunch specials time. I find this kind of service unprofessional and disrespectful. The food was good but the experience was horrible. The waiter never even offered to refill my water....

My family really wanted to visit this place after seeing they are often the busiest in town. Perhaps our expectations were to high, or it was just an off day.

First, when we got there, there were only about 4 4 parties. The girls seating folks asked how many and then never said a single other word. She just walked away..just odd.

It took nearly 5 minutes to get any chips or even get our drink order taken. We almost left, but hung in there. I noticed a young man walk by 3 times and notice us, but it wasn't until his 4th pass that he brought chips.

The waitress seemed to be the only one, but was very nice when we saw her. As things got busier, more employees started showing up and our service improved.

The food was good and the only thing that saved my rating. It was hot and well presented. Tasted ok. The gordita was dry and flaking apart so they could have been made better. My $2 side of beans was a spoonful plopped on a plate.

Mixed emotions, but it was certainly busier and better...
