I realize that we're in an economic recession/depression and that the cost of everything has skyrocketed, but it was RIDICULOUS at this place. I do NOT understand how this place rates so high. Perhaps, it's because it's the only game in town and locals have just become desensitized to overpriced and banal food.
First of all, they have the store front windows open - OPEN without screens - to let in flies, traffic noise, and vehicular exhaust. If it's an effort to reduce HVAC costs, then it's not worth it as I was harassed by flies throughout the "meal."
Second......the table was covered in crumbs and the sticky floor has not seen a mop and cleanser in ages. The ladies' room has a sliding door that was left open which is absolutely not kosher. There was no toilet paper IN the ladies' room. Since none of the staff saw fit to close the sliding door that a patron left open, it stands to reason that none of the staff would check to see if bathroom supplies were up to speed.
Next, the food was outrageously expensive. NONE of this food was sourced by local producers - it all came off of a truck and the quality was equal to the vendor. Ick.
I ordered a grilled chicken salad and the spinach/artichoke dip starter. The starter ($9,00) came straight from a jar and was heated in a microwave. The "chips" were stale bottom-of-the-bag tri-colored tortilla chips with quite literally 1/2 portion missing from the platter on which it was served. It's like the prep cook just shoved their hand into the bottom of a bag and dropped whatever stuck to their fingers onto the platter.
The grilled chicken salad ($12) was served in a HEATED bowl this tells me that the "chicken" bits were heated in the microwave, greens were thrown on top, and it was tossed in the same bowl that the chicken was microwaved in - I've worked as a server, a line cook, and a bartender in holes-in-the-walls AND 5-star establishments. The salad greens were obviously from a bag that was basically iceberg lettuce with a few leaves of romaine and spinach enough to define the product as a "mix." The chicken.........oh, my dear gawd..........the "chicken" was a frozen patty that had been diced and frozen by the processing plant before it was dropped into a bowl and microwaved. The meat was spongy, tasteless, and obviously processed. Just dreadful and how $12 can be justified for a SALAD is absolutely beyond me.
For a dessert, I chose a limoncello cake ($5) that was ALSO off of a truck or from Sam's Club. It had ZERO flavor of limoncello and had absorbed the flavors of whatever else was stored in the cooler with it. ICK, ick, ick.
My son ordered a cheeseburger ($9) that came with chips - potato chips, not the British definition of "chips" and a pickle spear. He ordered curly fries ($4) as a starter and they were served in a little side-salad bowl and typical for this thing - very meagre portion as a starter.
For dessert, my son ordered a salted caramel brownie ($5) that measured 2.75 inches x 2.75 inches. It certainly wasn't homemade and, if it was, whomever made it should take up basket weaving instead of baking.
My son also ordered a cup of coffee ($2.25) that had been sitting in the carafe since Easter. It was horrible and I fully expected his spoon to stand upright in the coffee mug. With a 15% tip, the whole bill for 2 people to eat lunch came to $58.81. That's over 1/2 of one-hundred dollars. Let that sink in.
Listen, folks. This was Troy, PA which is surrounded by some of the most excellent sources of beef, chicken, pork, and produce in the State. Surely, it would be much more cost effective to buy locally to serve locals. Even lettuce could be sourced locally from the hydroponic supplier, nearby! This never ceases to amaze me about this region: WHY are restaurants still buying garbage and charging outrageous prices for garbage food? The processed stuff isn't even "food" and I will never return to Building 9 for any reason.
The upside was that our waitress/server...

We were driving through Troy and stopped for dinner. The first dining room was full and we were led to the second dining room. Overall the atmosphere of the place is amazing. The place had the appearance of being a happening place with charm and the online menu we saw with picture of food was showing that everything looked amazing.
But we had a couple discrepancies that lead to the two star review.
1: The waitress seemed flustered. She wasn’t tentative and we hardly saw her other than to take our order and then when she gave us our bill. Our order was placed wrong but it only cost me an extra $5.
2: The food seemed imitation, fake and not in house. We ordered a pepperoni pizza, boneless wings and Pork Mac N Cheese. The pizza was horrific. I would say that it was almost like a pizza you would get at a 7-11 or a mini mart. The dough didn’t seem fresh or in-house made and the cheese looked imitation. The middle was just gooey and like if you had a bun soaking in water. The Pork Mac n Cheese looked amazing. But again it had the taste of imitation cheese, the pork tasted like grocery store bought pork. The concept works but the end product left us not wanting more but actually not finishing it. The wings we’re not that bad. The bbq sauce was delicious. But they were just ordinary wings.
The restaurant gave this appearance of an in house crafted food and beverage place. We were just disappointed and felt like it totally did not live up to the hype of the reviews and quality of the food.

Read moreLet me start by saying I am very hard to impress. Food was absolutely amazing Great portions and amazing prices. They could definitely charge a lot More and I’d still continue to come back. Absolutely the best food within a 100 mile radius. First impression walking it was great. Greeted and treated very well. Portions Absolutely astonishing for the prices you wouldn’t think your getting much but your getting more then what you think I was full nearly just off our appetizer. Food was fast and quick to come out like as soon. As you sat down they already knew very hot and fresh and juicy. The place had a bar/and another bigger area I didn’t get to check it out because we were seated in the front area but I know larger groups could go in the back. The waitress was quick and very formal and very professional. And kept coming back as much as she could and was concerned on how our food actually was.
