A&W has always been overpriced but the food is good. I took my family to take advantage of the free root beer float promotion on 8/6/24 and grab a bite. When we walked into the lobby, the cashier made a screwface at us and made a bee line to the back of the restaurant. I overheard her talking to another employee and stating specifically how many members were in our party. When she came back to the register she (without asking how she could help us) immediately stated that their location was not participating in the promotion. Because of her prior actions I sensed that she was being disingenuous. I opted to lead my family to the parking lot. While my niece looked up the website and promotion, I went back inside to ask for their managers information and their store ID#. My niece showed me the website and it was confirmed that indeed this location was participating in the giveaway. I then showed the display with their address on the website for the giveaway promotion to two of the employees at which point they change their story to say that their manager had left the store 19 minutes before we arrived and had given them instruction to stop the promotion. The promotion was supposed to run until 8:00 p.m. and according to the associates they were given the instructions to stop at 3:45 pm. The receipts that this location provides to their customers does NOT contain a printout of the store ID#. My niece then emailed the corporate office with a report of what had occurred and I called Ale their manager and left a detailed voicemail. Ale never returned my call. The corporate office has not replied to my niece's email. In the very least I would be expecting some type of store credit or a rain check in a good faith effort to reinvigorate our desire to patronize this establishment. I would like to add that the employees held their position while we were present in the lobby by denying other customers access to the promotion. However after we left the lobby we stayed on the premises at the outdoor dining tables and overheard other people in the drive-in asking about the promotion and the promotion being honored by the person in the intercom. In my opinion this whole situation is relevant to a complaint to be filed and investigated at the corporate level but we have not heard from the office regarding this matter. I can understand that unprofessionalism can be mitigated through coaching and retraining efforts but in my life I have been subject to many forms of discrimination. I do hope that A&W will take some form of acknowledgement and responsibility...
Read moreWe came to A&W as our last stop before returning to NY. We had 2 carloads of family so we spent A LOT of money on this "Blast from the Past" treat. We purchased mugs and souvenirs to take home to our NY family. After driving over an hour back to the house, we realized that our souvenirs were never provided to us. I promised my parents and grandchildren that I was bringing them a special treat from AZ. We now get to return empty handed and out quite a bit of money. We weren't even provided with a receipt to prove that we PURCHASED the items. We immediately contacted the store and were met with rudeness. This was a very disappointing end to a wonderful trip out west to visit. The fact that we have to disappoint my GRANDBABIES, along with having the feeling that we were stolen from and taken advantage of is NOT the image I would think that you want to portray to your customers. This is UNACCEPTABLE! We visited the store at approximately 4:00-4:30pm today, so it was not rush hour, lunch time nor dinner time. There is no excuse for this type of inadequate...
Read moreGood food, although a little pricey. Fairly fast service. Friendly staff. My only real complaint is the menu shows pics of battered fish, which looks so delicious if you're a fish lover! After wanting it for a while and not being able to afford it, I finally was able to get it one day, and was very disappointed that it was not battered at all, but a breaded crust (I think it had corn meal in it, which I don't care for at all on my fish!) and wasn't that great at all.
But the burgers are good and it's only 20 cents more for the large fries over the regular size, and it's a nice size. You can get dessert at the ice cream shop that shares the same restaurant space. They have tons of flavors they mix up at the time you order. 'Lunch time' is probably not the best time to go if you're in a hurry. Since it's the only fast food joint in the neighborhood, and they have a very limited number of tables (it's inside the Chevron), it gets pretty busy with all the local construction, highway workers and corrections personnel grabbing a quick...
