My family and I have been to this place twice now after moving to the area a few months ago, and after today’s visit with some friends we have decided it is worthy of becoming part of our local dining rotation. The food has been consistently good and everyone has tried something different each time. The atmosphere is quite nice for the area and a small family run establishment. There is a small but nice patio out front that seats multiple tables of 4 to 6 that is equipped with a fireplace for the cooler weather and also has a giant connect 4 game to occupy the little ones screen-free, and they have a kids menu. Given it is family friendly, it also is one of the few restaurants along S. Houghton that I would consider coming out to for a date night. It is nicely decorated with good lighting, eclectic music, and solid margaritas. In my opinion, the staff/service has been the best part of our visits. I think this is important to mention because if you rely heavily upon reviews, this particular establishment has taken a hit to it’s rating score for bad service in the past. Whatever was going on 3 to 5 years ago has no bearing on what is going on now. The waitstaff we have encountered has been friendly, attentive and patient...
Read moreDetails are important. Missing some key things but has all the potential. I felt like going back to the kitchen and begging them to change so they could be successful. The salsa was watery but you can tell it would have been delicious if it had the proper texture. The meat was tender but didnt have enough salt, and some parts of the dish were clearly microwaved (hot plate means microwaved!). The atmosphere, furniture and decor were all a win in my book. The service was above average. One big pitfall was the taste of the water. Seemed like their ice machine has freezer burn or something, because it flavored every drink with some off, unpleasant taste. The server did not seem surprised about this, so my guess is it is brought up often. Prices are reasonable, the place is clean and inviting but people are likely not coming back because of the details. I honestly feel like a few small changes could make this place "the" place to go for Mexican food and drinks in Rita Ranch. Please use the feedback you get here because a lot of people are saying the...
Read moreThis place was nice, it wasn’t very busy when we came here so we were seated right away and our server came by quickly which is always appreciated. She was the sweetest girl, very friendly and helped out with questions about the menu.
The food was decent, we ordered The Enchilada Style French Fries and those were amazing, I’d highly recommend those! We also tried the tamales and enchiladas and I enjoyed those as well!
The atmosphere is what I’d describe as cozy and quiet which is desirable for a nice family meal. It was also very clean and smelt nice.
My only complaint is the soda fountain drinks tasted like the machine was dirty. I ordered a lemonade and it tasted off which I notice happens a lot at other places so I didn’t think much but decided to ask for a sprite anyway and that also tasted off so I told our waitress it wasn’t good and she kindly gave me another drink, and she didn’t charge for any of the drinks.
But all in all I would come back as the food was delicious and the place...
