Having never tried MASA's food from their truck, I was not sure exactly what to expect when I learned that they had recently opened a brick-and-morter. Luckily, my friend was willing to try out MASA for our weekly Friday dinner. I am personally very glad we made that choice! The store was not quite what we expected; there is no seating inside and limited outdoor seating, but the man working the counter and cooking everything was extremely knowledgeable, answered all of our dietary questions in detail, and--above all else--was extremely friendly and passionate about the food he cooked! That interaction alone more than made up for the lack of seating. I wound up ordering a batch of the Yuca fries (which will have me coming back time and time again to MASA; they were sooo good, and the sauce that accompanied them was my favorite) and a 6-pack of empanada. My favorites were the Bok Joy, TCB, and the Columbiana from the first batch, but the Pabellón did not disappoint my need to try new flavor combos. In the end, I wound up ordering a second 6-pack to take home to my family, and they were a huge hit. The biggest downside of the visit was the lack of seating, as mentioned before. It was not an issue when my friend and I visited, but as the day went on, I could see that people will be coming frustrated as they visited the store, ordered, and had nowhere to sit afterwards. My friend and I wound up moving everything into my car to eat in the AC so that other people could have the table that we were at. I will definitely be visiting MASA again in the near future. Those yuca fries are calling my name!

My husband & I spontaneously tried Masa Empanadas for the first time tonight and it did not disappoint!!! Matt helped us & was incredibly knowledgeable on everything & super accommodating! We tried all of them but the veggie empanada. They also have take & bake frozen empanadas! Here are my husband & I favorites in order from favorite to least favorite, but they were all AMAZING!! My husband’s: Colombian, Pablellón, Italiana, Sunrise, Queso, TCB Mine: Colombian, Italiana, Queso, Sunrise, TCB, Pabellón

So delicious and the best cuban sandwich outside Miami! Authentic and lovingly made roast pork with a citrus garlic blend of mojo criollo combined with ham, Swiss, mustard and pickles on a pressed bun. Try it, you'll love it!

I enjoy their food, i feel like for the price the empanadas are so tiny, I myself can eat 6+ and this costs about $25. So it can get pricey. The shrimp bombs delicious also. Customer service is always nice it's lovely that they make the empanadas to order and not for the day,so you do have to wait 10 minutes at most. They have a food truck that opens in Midtown on Thursdays unfortunately the timing is so short I never get to catch it and that's way closer to my vicinity than the 81st...
